Fall at Falmouth
Overcast, cool windy day but we never waited to hit and had a chance to ball hawk as well as play as fast as we wanted. Thoroughly enjoyable day.
Falmouth C.C. is a cape cod gem.Greens were perfect;fairways perfect and a real pleasure to play.
We had a really nice round. Conditions of the course were very good.
Pleasant layout with diverse range of holes. Average difficulty with few hazards. Pace of play before mid-June makes a nice pace.
we were visiting and got a decent deal on golfnow. most of course is reasonably level without dramatic holes. very walkable. greens were extremely slow. played as a twosome and moved quickly until #8 when we slowed to a crawl. quit after #13 as our last three holes took over an hour. learned there is a large wednesday group that plays at a snail's pace, even marking 6" putts. might try again on some other day. course wouldn't be worth the non-discounted price.
Course is flat a little water at the end
I enjoyed playing the course. I wish they could improve the tee boxes some of them were very hard to put your tee into the ground for you drive. On the 18 hole make sure you use a white ball. If you go to the right the driving range uses yellow balls and you might not find yours. It was still a good course to play.
COurse under repair
Unusual lay out as the course must have had a redesign. Hole markers didn't match hole on score card. End of year so front none had fairways ripped up for irrigation repairs(?).
Would like to play course again in summer months
This course was very enjoyable. Very flat terrain makes it easy to walk. Greens were in good shape but no rakes for the traps this time of year. Course is fair but can bite you if you stray too far off line. Very little water and not too many traps. A good workout on a warm fall day.
Atrocious pace of play
I played this course on Saturday, October 29th. The course conditions were excellent. They have really done a nice job with the fairways and the greens. However, the pace of play was shockingly bad. After 4 hours and 15 minutes we had only completed 12 holes. We then arrived on the 13th hole to find two groups waiting to tee off and another group up in the fairway. Knowing that we wouldn't even start the final 6 holes until 4 and a half hours after we had begun, we decided to pack it in. It should never take MORE THAN 6 hours to play a round of golf.
A nice, average course on Cape Cod
If you're looking for an good course to play on Cape Cod this course is for you. Of the courses I have played on The Cape this one falls right in the middle. It's not great like Olde Barnstable but it's not awful like Sandwich Hollows. The course was in good shape as far as the tees, fairways and greens go but anything off the expensive grass is average at best. The course is fairly wide open and will allow you to make a few mistakes off the tee. If you're in the area and just looking for an easygoing no frills round of golf Falmouth Country Club is for you.
Good public course. I would play there again.
Great place to bring friends
Just a fine run well maintained golf facility with every amenitie
I've played 15 different course in New England over the past 2 months, and this one was by far the slowest and most congested. A round should never take 5hrs and 20min
I'll admit, the first 2 holes on the Championship Course is just OK. But once you cross the street for the next 14 holes, the layout/design is fantastic! Loved the course overall and the staff was great. The pace was kind of slow but tolerable. I'll be back!!
