Reviews
Firefly
This used to be an outstanding Executive-style course with lush fairways, expertly manicured greens, clean tee boxes and raked bunkers. Unfortunately, this course has fallen into a bit of disrepair but it is still a good place to go to work on your short to mid-irons (from the white tees) and tune up your short game. Avoid the bunkers at all costs as too many have stones and dirt in place of sand.
Look beyond the fairways and you will enjoy.
Not sure what to expect with the various reviews. Played on a Saturday morning and the course was wide open, Pace of play was not an issue and was able to finish the round in under 3 hours. The club house has seen better times, so if you are expecting a fine dinning atmosphere, you will need to look elsewhere. The worker was friendly and made the time to explain the course and layout with the hand drawn map. Do not lose that map on your first visit, since there is absolutely no hole markings. After your first round the map will be just a memory and the layout will be easy to follow. The fairways on the par4's were in average condition and very playable. The fairways for the par 3's were to be avoided at all costs. Hard pan and little green grass. So all you need to do is hit the green every time. The best part of the day and the course were those greens. Smooth and fast. Large greens for an executive course. The greens had enough undulations to make them challenging. Good course and worth the visit. They will have my business for more rounds this summer.

Good Greens
This is a par 60 course , 3 par 4s and the rest par 3s. The greens were in great shape. Enough undulations to make them challenging. The fairways on the par 4s are not very good. All in all not a bad course.
Firefly Course
The greens on the course are amazing - I have played on Jack Nicholas designed course, $45,000 membership, and the greens on this course rival it; I was very pleasantly surprised - BTW the price was $21 including a cart. Once the staff knew this was my first time at their course he went out of his way to make sure I knew the layout - a fun executive course -- I would recommend this course no problem --
Great Greens and Tee boxes
This course is a interesting course to play and to look at. If you pass by it from the street the place looks horrible, you pass by the 5th hole on the street. which is the worst of the course. Other than that (and the torn up driving range) this is one of my favorite places to play. the tee boxes are amazing and the greens are the best speed i have ever played. Next is the fairway on other par 4s which are definitely not bad but they are not so amazing that they stand out like the greens and tee boxes. lastly, the sand traps seem to be out of a private course, comparing them to others the sand is nice and powdery and they are large enough to be challenging but fun.
Better Than Expected
I wasn't sure what to expect based on the price and the reviews that I read prior to going to Firefly. Other reviews made it clear that the hole markings were not good. I agree with that. They give you a hand drawn map to navigate the course. I would say 90% of people should not have an issue getting through the course with the map. It was straight forward for 17 holes out of 18 for us. We had to turn back once, possibly due to our lack of care to read the map carefully at that point. The fairways and greens were in much better shape than I expected. For the price, golfers should not expect perfection, as it surely is not perfect. However, the fee we paid was a very good value. We played 18 in a little under 3 hours. Pace of play was great. I would go back. Perfect for practicing irons and close game. Nice executive course and definitely does not warrant the 1 stars I have seen in review forums. Will there ever be a PGA tour event there, surely not, but for a round on a weekend with friends, it is worth the trip.
Worst course played in a long time
Came from Florida to play with my brother in law. Played this course a while ago wasn't bad . Has went down hill sence we played last time.
nice fast course
Nice course for irons, sort course nice for walking.
Greens are well groomed.
terrible
Waste of time, you can't even find half the holes with the ridiculous hand-drawn map they give you. The guy Cutting the lawn is not friendly, he yelled at me for hitting a ball towards him with my 7 iron when he was more than 200 yards away from me (ball landed 40 ft away from him). You must find the green in one shot or good luck finding anything that resembles grass anywhere to hit a ball off of.
Nice Tee's and Greens
For an executive course it was very well maintained. Green's and Tee's was in great shape. Par 4's fairly short some challenging 3's. Overall not bad for the money
Nice greens
First time playing here and wouldn't have based on some of the other reviews but was the only early hot deal i could find. Club house was a shack but the staff was very welcoming. Started on 4 to join another single and avoid weekend regulars. Nobody in front of us pace was very fast. Greens were inn great shape except for all the ball marks but they cleaned up well. Nice layout, lots of forced carries. Signage on course did not exist.
Good value; don't expect perfection
The course is decent and great for a quick round, either solo or a duo. The holes are generally challenging though the use of obstacles, terrain slope, and some tight fairways. As most of the holes are par 3, you can complete a solo round in under 2 hours walking. The course seems to use less water, so you get a sense of European style rough in some areas. I recommend this course if you want to get in a quick round or are sick of the driving range.
With that said, I only recommend this course for regular 18 hole play if you can get a good deal on the price. There are better courses in the area that charge in the same full price range and have much better conditions. For example: I only saw two signs indicated hole number, so you have to use a hand drawn map to find your way around; about 1/3 of the bunkers had trash/beer cans/glass in them; some tee boxes were missing the white/red/blue markers and were generally not well maintained.
My biggest issue is the location - A par 4 has you hitting next to a rather high speed road with a decent amount of traffic on the right within 10 paces; this can be intimating for most average right hand golfers who may slice and thus either hook or take a terrible swing to prevent vehicle damage. A par 3 has you hitting over a parking lot with cars... Two par 3s have you hitting next to many houses/back yards - 1 stay ball and your hitting their windows. Finally, two holes have a car sales lot along side or near the green. Long story short, 1/3 of the holes can be intimidating for a double digit handicapper and potentially cause them to play worse.
Executive play
This is the place to play if you want to dust off the irons and work on chipping and putting. Greens are in excellent condition and you can play 18 holes in 3 hours.
part 3
Can't complain for the location and price good deal.
