Outstanding golf club
Shaker Hills is one of the nicest golf courses I have ever played. What a great experience. Highly recommended
Great day had by all
Great corse! Played with a member( Will).
Enjoy the round. Greens and fraiways were in great shape. We travel a good bit... Don't always find a good corse to play. But Shaker Hills was a joy. A bit of a bottle neck at 10 and 11. But pace was very good. Would recommend to any one. Some very enjoyable closing holes
Fun course with a variety of difficulty
I've played here a few times before, and all of them have been great days of golf. The food is good, staff is very nice, and you are playing on a premium surface (obviously the maintenance crews work very hard here). I had played a couple times before the recent renovations, and it is safe to say that the course has been vastly improved. Many of the things that didn't make much sense have been corrected, such as the 18th hole. The tee boxes have also been redesigned from little circles for each tee to long boxes which house multiple tees. This may seem little, but it's the things like that which make the new course appear more modern. Aside from the golf, the clubhouse is now vastly refined inside and out, with the new pro shop, locker rooms, top deck, and more. They have made the restaurant a perfect destination for cooling down after a round in the sun, either inside in the new restaurant or outside on the top deck where the view of the magnificent course surrounds you. All in all, I enjoyed my time playing at Shaker Hills and I plan to visit again soon for another fantastic day of golf.
Nice layout
I played only 9 holes as it was very windy and cold. If you stayed on the fairways you could find your ball easily but landing in the rough with lot of leaves made it difficult to find your ball. It was hilly but the holes were interesting. The greens were in great shape.
November Golf Day
The condtion of the greens the second week of November is excellent. They were smooth, fast and fair. I could never imagine a course this late in the year with greens in great condition. The course is a real challenge. Most of the fairways are wide to compensate for the difficulty. I played International Oaks and like Shaker better. Something about it has me hooked. The Summer crowds are long gone and we zipped through our round. Had it not been looking for lost balls in the leaves we could have played 18 holes in just over 3 hours.
Great course, could have done better with leaf removal. Time spent looking for balls in fairway because of leaves.
Great course, challenging, good views. Pace of play could have been better.
Great Course - in great shape
Played in November - fairways and greens in great shape.
Problem is the leaves - we often had trouble finding the ball in the fairway due to leaf piles. Once the leaves are down it maybe better. Some great hole layouts - a lot of elevation changes and water - very interesting layout.
Best to "Tee it forward" on this course.
Pro shop staff are super friendly.
Nice driving range as well.
love fall golf
Signed up to play with 3 other players I didn't know. Proshop sent them out early .Pro shop told me keys were in carts , went all the way to get a cart , but no keys in carts .Flagged down a grounds worker and he fixed me up with a key. I played by myself for 2 holes. When I caught up to them, they did not want me to join them , and would not let me play through. Very slow players, very bad golfers ,glad I didn't play with them . If I did I might still be there . No rangers around all day. I skipped 2 holes and went on my way , meet up with a 2 some and had a great day. It all worked out great. Great price, great course.
Challenging and clever design
Played on a chilly October afternoon - and was thrilled with the layout and presentation of the course. The layout has a championship feel to it, and when played from the blues, it's a very difficult round (I can't imagine playing it from the tips...should be reserved for the best golfers).
This particular day was quite windy and the greens were rock hard from the colder air making scoring very difficult. Still, an awesome round at a beautiful course. Will absolutely be coming back.
Shaker Hills
The course was in pristine condition. I have played this course a dozen times within the last four years. With the renovations in club house and course I would recommend this course to any golfer. I am planning on playing again. On a side note it is late October and extending my season by playing here is worth the money.
Great course some very beautiful undulating holes, others flatter

Extraordinary layout with prestigious feel
Layout is great and well cut playing right into the landscape. Grass was well manicured at each level and the fairways well taken care of. Greens were tough too in a good way. Multi level, saw a lot of missed breaking putts but the ball rolled very nicely. Unfortunately the nature of the greens seemed to allow for the traffic around the hole to take it's toll but we played after 12. Practice facilities are also fantastic offering an entire par 3 hole to practice on. Only complaint: around numerous holes there were some random sections of grass that were clearly repairs done right on the fringe. The grass was vastly different in type but more importantly length. It was like putting through the rough? I had to chip it.. Anyway It might have gone unnoticed but it came into play twice for me when I just missed those greens and wanted to putt. To see the continuity of the fairways end where it mattered most was kinda disappointing. Overall definitely recommended and worth the drive from the city. Had I known, I would have came a couple hours early to warm up!
Great course
Great course, while it is on the more expensive side of courses in the area the course is in great shape, they provide great service (i.e. when I pulled into the parking lot, an attendant drove a golf cart to us and loaded our bags) and have complete facilities (driving range, putting green, and chipping green). It is a challenging course, but not impossible by any means. Has a good variety of hole types (short part 3s, long par 3s, par 5s, and tricky par 4s). Highly recommend.
Always challenging
Course is very interesting and challenging, conditions good or better. Starter was not especially friendly but other than that everything was very good including a great hamburger. This time of year a lot of aerating going on. Finishing hole is great.
Awesome course
Love playing this course over and over again
Course is good condition and clean
Great layout
Great day! Course in very good shape, greens a little slow. Putting green quicker than greens on course.
Played from back tees which made it real challenging. As a bomber, if I played from whites I could carry most trouble. Greens and fairways smooth
Entire staff was very friendly and very accommodating. Nice track and will be back again.
Unbelievably beautiful course!
Shaker Hills is a spectacular course with pristine conditions, challenging holes, and a beautiful clubhouse. I wasn't playing particularly well that afternoon, but the course was so perfect that I still had a great day.
Good grades for new owners
It is good to see Shaker Hills getting back to being Shaker Hills. Always been a great course, has not always been run like a great course. New ownership has put it back on the path to success. Staff was very hospitable. Pace was slow initially, due to an outing ahead of us, but the on-course staff was very involved and did everything they could to keep things moving.
