Great 9 hole Donald Ross design .
Classic design from the 1920', but dont let that fool you. This course is not easy. Did I mention it is private? The greens are fast and undulating and huge. If you're on the wrong side of the green, good luck. I'd recommend staying below the hole. I love it.
Course was in superb condition. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Management was very nice and described the history of the course and options for future play. Course was fun to play and appropriately challenging.
Best finishing hole I've played.
Outstanding classic Donald Ross 9-holer. Playing the whites on the front and the blues on the back gives you a significantly different hole on 4 holes on the second nine. Course was in beautiful condition with some very tricky greens. While the layout is fairly open, there are some major elevation changes and patches of fescue to keep you honest. 9/18 is difficult from either tee, but playing it from the blue tee box is worth the price of admission alone. While you are signing up for a tee time, there is no starter, so get there early and get your cart in line at the first tee. No issues on getting back off 1/10 for the 2nd nine.
Fantastic greens
Even though it is nine holes, second nine from the blues maks it a different course. Great food in the lounge, and open for membership for those looking.
Great Course, beautifyully laid out, challenging.
Despite being a nine hole course, the variation in the holes makes you feel like you are playing 18 different holes. This is truly a private course setting with high end private course conditions. Look forward to playing it again soon.
Best 9 hole course in country
Donald Ross design is in great condition and very challenging. Only downside is putting was impossible, due to size, undulations and speed of greens. Most puts were guesses. Overall experience was excellent.
A wonderfully maintained Donald Ross course
This is a private 9 hole Donald Ross design. Tees Fairways and greens were perfect. Greens are fast and undulating. Score here and you can score anywhere.
Excellent shape, great course !
Only draw back is that there is no starter (private) so if you have a 10:00 tee time the members can tee off in front of you all day long. A group even cut off our foursome as we made the turn. So you might not get out till an hour after your booked time, back and front ! I understand its a private course and members have the right of way but if you pay $200 dollars and have a tee time in advance they should have the pro shop get you out within 10 min. of that time. Or a least walk to the 1st tee and let you and the members know when you can tee off.
9 hole gem plays like 18
Don't let the nine holes fool you, one of Donald Ross' best examples! The 9/18th is one of the best holes I've ever played and the overall layout (you play the mid tees on the front and the tips on the back) plays like an 18 hole course forcing you to play different clubs and make different shots, the greens are true, and a classic Ross design, that will penalize anyone that doesn't take the time to read them and give the ball good pace. Overall I'm going to play every time it comes up on golfnow. it is a private course so public tee times are very limited but worth the $50 they charge to its guests ,great course that you won't forget playing and want to play again, and also for a chance to play one of the top 100 holes in the country (9th)!
Wish i lived closer.
I have heard the legend of this little nine hole course designed by Donald Ross before and was looking forward to playing the course and seeing for myself what all the talk was about. Well boys and girls i can tell you that the legend is not legend it is a fact. This little nine hole gem was in perfect condition. The greens were fast and smooth, tee boxes flawless and the rough and fairways could not have been nicer. Great opening hole and very difficult finishing hole. the seven holes in between offer a true thinking mans approach to the course. The course was not very tight but the dense rough was a half shot penalty on most holes. If you venture down to this course keep it in the fairway and hope that your putter is working. Very much looking forward to heading back down for another round in the near future. The only downside to this course if that i don't live closer, if this course was within 25 minute of my house i would have been asking for an application for membership before i had left the property. Kudos to the staff, they were friendly and professional. Met the course super while playing, friendly guy who had no problem stopping and talking about the course for a few minutes. The pro was very welcoming as well and shared about the course history. If you get the chance book a tee time.
Hidden gem
Don't let the 9 hole course fool ya, it is one of the best golf courses I have played. Challenging, eye-catching and very well maintained. Staff was very friendly and I would definitely recommend this 9 holer for anyone.
a 9 hole gem everyone should play.
awesome golf. Dolnaid Ross's best nine ever. If you don't like this course you should quit golf. Most enjoying day ever on a golf course. 5 +++ stars.
Love playing here as the coarse is in great shape and is very challensing.
People were very friendly from the staff to the members. I would play there again. The discount helped as we are both retired.
Great 9 hole course
Not usually a fan of 9 holes but especially on the 1st visit you will be happy you got a 2nd chance at a few of the holes! And there is enough difference on 1/2 of the holes it does not feel like the same hole. Cannot stress this enough, keep the ball in front of the hole! These will be the fastest greens you have played, I promise. I will be going back!
