My local course
Riverside is my local course only minutes from my house. I play there at least once a week. Good mix of holes, well taken care of course. I prefer to play the back if I am only playing 9, as it has more elevation changes and dog legs then the front.
Beautiful Battle Creek, MI Golf Course
Scenic contoured layout in very nicely manicured condition providing 5 sets of tees for every skill level golfer. I played the blue tees and found it a solid and fair test of golf, while my wife played the red tees which were a fair test of golf for her as well. Pro shop attendant was incredibly helpful with history and layout of the golf course, as well as very friendly and courteous. Well worth the money and fun to play while requiring you to use every club in your bag. Look forward to playing it again soon.
Fun course
Nicely laid out. Can be a bit of a challenge. Greens are fast.
Riverside Country Club
Good course for the money. Front nine is pretty straight forward, but very hilly! This course is definitely not made for the walker.
Used to be private but now open to the public. Back nine is definitely worth the wait. Very challenging with a few blind shots though so pay attention to the holes prior.
Very good condition.
Almost did not get to play that day, because Golf Now had allowed a reservation to be made when the course had a big outing that day which started at 11 or 12.
However the pro shop guy called the manager and they allowed us to go off before the outing, and we were able to play our 18 in just over three hours, so we got out of the outing's way.
Course was in beautiful shape, maybe the best I've seen it at Riverside.
We had a fun round and I'd recommend it to anybody.
Nice course, plays pretty straight but the greens are in great shape and tricky! Pro offered some great tips before the round. The Kalamazoo river wraps around this course and influences the greens on almost every hole. New to this area but will definitely but back.
Nice surprise
Did not know what to expect and this course was a gem. Staff very friendly and course was in good condition.
I've played the best courses in Michigan.
I have played Arcadia Bluffs, Tulleymore, and Forest Dunes this year, and the greens at Riverside Country Club are on par (excuse the pun) with the best in the state. Elevated greens always make for more of a challenge and that is the same here. Very hard to read the greens, subtle breaks that look like they could go either way, but large and easily accessible.
A local gem
I play here a couple of times a year and am surprised how few players outside Battle Creek play this gem. Reasonable rates, and elevation changes, uphill, downhill, left to right and right to left holes provide wonderful variation. to the experience. easily worth a 25 minute drive from Kalamazoo. Well-conditioned fairways, reasonable tee boxes, and greens that offer many subtle breaks. Some local knowledge can help you score well. An enjoyable experience with good pace of play early on a mid-summer Saturday morning.

Great layout fairways and greens in heart shape very open but challenging will play again
Great bang for the buck
Fairly easy layout here in BC. Back nine much more challenging than front. Playing from blues or tips really changes the dynamics on the course. Pretty darn straight really. Forgiving and will play again. Just wish greens were more "true".
Challenging greens
Tough greens on this course. The course plays great, with lots of variation in elevation and plays long at times, but gives you chances to score well...if you can hit your putt.
Super challenge for a great value!
This once private golf course is one of the nicest in the area. Well maintained and challenging greens. There is no easy hole out there. Greens are tough for the newcomer as they don't always break the way they look. Helpful hint: Everything runs toward downtown on the front nine.
any cheap joints in the area we can stay in. buddy wants to look at stay and plays but would rather find whole in wall where we can just pass out in and go hit a different 18
