Not a whole lot of positives
There’s not a lot of positives about this course. It’s barely a step up from a municipal course. For $84, there’s much better courses out there.
The driving range was closed due to rain (?). The “grill” only serves hotdogs and snacks for food. The course was not in great condition. Lots of ground under repair, unkept bunkers, beat up fairways, very slow greens. The rough was long to the point where if you’re not on the fairway there’s a good chance you won’t be able to spot your ball. The grounds crew must have taken the summer off or something.

Weird
The entire front nine was spent playing in between the landscaping crew. Crowded, busy and loud. Not normally like this but today was bad. Hard to play a par 3 when there are 4 people tending to the course at noon.

Great course - challenging
Course in great condition. Fairway fringe a little Long in places and balls Easily lost in the grass. Some plugged due to wet conditions (hard to control that!).
Greens were in brilliant condition. Ran true and good speed.
Highly recommended.
Fairways in great shape, so too were the greens, except for pitch marks. Teeing areas were so-so. Some great, some shabby, some long. Overall, a good test with changing elevations. Definitely be back!

real good public course, greens excellent, good layout
Stow North
Have played this course well over 200 times over the years. It has hosted tournaments such as the Mass Amateur and we’ve seen this course in great shape. To be charitable, this is beyond the end of the normal playing season as New England heads toward winter. The greens are not that bad, but the tee boxes were rough and ragged, fairways with patches and bare spots, cart paths becoming rutty washboards. Now we’ve heard that this course may sold off and only the inferior south course will remain. Too bad, but this property has changed hands several times, and each owner seems to let conditions slide in their own way. Hate to see it go.

Drained really well
We had very heavy rains the night before. The group i played with were all experienced golfers who kept talking about how surprised they were by the course being in such great condition after heavy rains. The north course drains VERY well. We had an awesome day playing 18
Great Day
Course was in great shape. Staff was super friendly with a cart that came out pretty often. Ranger was helpful for several blind holes on the front 9. Overall had a great time on the course
Forward Tees were an After thought
This place could care less about women playing there!
Not one item of female clothing in the pro shot to the forward tees which were difficult to locate because they were just patches of grass, even depressions of grass, certainly NOT tee boxes.
Very unimpressed and will not be rushing back!
No photos of each hole and with leaves everywhere, we couldn't locate our balls easily. Had to wait at each and every hole. Cart paths were in such poor shape and we were so disappointed in Stowe Acres!!!

Greens much better than last time I played this course. Fairways only fair. Tee boxes awful. Sand in traps poor.

Not Stow I remember
We had not played Stow in over 15 years
So disappointing the condition overall !
Tees has much sand and understanding drought conditions, it is unacceptable that at each the landing areas had some turf in fairways.
For $79 , the value is disappointing but more so
Stow is not course from past. Manage the cart flow better with all the traffic if maintenance dollars are not there !
