Katke Golf Course

Played with a couple of fellow recent retirees. Great weather and the course was in good condition....although the green speeds seemed a little inconsistent from hole to hole. Highly recommend this course to others. Have played before in lare summer and found the course to be in excellent shape.

Excellent track, super greens, good test. Very enjoyable. Will play again.

I love the course and if I lived closer to Big Rapids I would be a member. As it is we try to play it as often as we can.

Great course, perfect condition, super fast greens, tough pin locations. Would definitely recommend playing if you have the chance.

Great golf course always in excellent condition. Some challenging holes the greens are very nice and fast. The staff is very friendly.

Played on a Monday afternoon and the pace was crisp. Rarely had to wait on a tee box. Staff was pleasant and the cost was very reasonable. With no course layout on the scorecard and no visual hole information on the tee box it can be a challenge to know where to place your ball if it's your first time playing the course. Watch your approach shots as the greens are more difficult than they initially appear.

Have been playing here for 5 years and it keeps getting better! The greens are Country Club quality and the course layout is exceptional! One of the best values in the entire region.

I had never played here before. It is a nice layout and the course was challenging. I played the Crimson tees, but on this day, they had more than half of them set back to almost the tips. So it played long.
But I still shot well. Conditions were nice, although the greens were a little firm in spots. Hit a couple of nice shots into the green, and it bounced and rolled to the back. Other greens held well. Nice course, and I would play it again.

A lot more slope than you would think.. Greens are tough.. Fits in well with Ferris State University being right down the road..

The course itself was fine. My issue was with a member of the staff. I knew going into the round that it was going to be a long day. I took my father in law who has not golfed in years, along with my son and his friend who had never golfed. So whenever a group got close to us we would let them play through. It took us 3 hrs to play the front nine since we didn't want to hold anyone up. So I was ticked off when a staff member pulled up to my father in law and son and said we need to play faster. We had just let another group through on hole 10. My son and his friend didn't want to golf any longer since they felt they were slowing everyone down. I told them we are just fine. We let another group play through on the next whole and they were slow but I thought maybe they were complaining so we just let them go. Well the guy in that group said thanks but they told him that his group was slow. He thought that was funny since there was no group close to them. So its safe to say I was not happy with my time at Katke. I know our pace of play was slow but that is why we let people play through.

My son and I played Katke for the first time and were very pleased. It is a beautiful course that is well manicured. It is not extremely difficult, but is challanging. My only complaint is that the score card did not have the hole layout printed on them, and neither did the tee box signs. That makes it a little hard for first time golfers.

Course was in great shape. It is a challenge from any tee box. Built thru a nice area: hills, water, sand & tall grass.

Practice facilities were some of the best we've seen for a public course. Course has a lot of elevation changes. Fairways and greens were in excellent shape. Greens were somewhat slow on the day we played. The course was challenging but fair at the same time. Layout reminded me of wooded courses near Gaylord. Has to be the best golf value in Michigan.

The course has made some improvements if you haven't played it in a few years. Great practice facility. Staff was very friendly and nice pro shop and grill on site. Easy to get to and only 1 hour north of Grand Rapids. Highly recommend you play this course soon!

Enjoyed playing this course. Will play many more times this year. Greens in excellent shape get a true ball roll. Fairways well maintained.

This course has beautiful big greens that hold well but the speed seems to vary from green to green quite a bit. There are a lot of blind shots here in the rolling hills which adds to the fun and challenge. There is some construction on a hole or 2 but this does not take away from a positive experience.
If you haven't played here, you should.

Fairways are in great shape! Greens need a lot of attention......

Wonderful course very nice view and nice conditions we played on a camping trip to the area the only drawback was a very slow pace of play will definitely play again
