It’s always nice to play golf in December in Michigan!
The course was very well maintained, the layout is challenging with the creek running through the entire course!
Booked through golfnow and got a good deal. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Facilities were clean and the restaurant had many options. Will play there again.
Scenic, fair and well maintained course. Good pace on a pretty busy monday afternoon. Will play again, would reccommend.
Early Bird Gets the Worm
I booked this on GolfNow and my friend and I each paid $29. We started at 6:15 am and were the first people on the course. I was very impressed with the condition of the tee boxes, greens, and fairways.
This can be a challenging course on the east 9 because of very narrow fairways. I much preferred the West 9, probably because I shot better.
I’ve played this course at twighlight and the pace was ok, but you couldn’t really beat the value of $29 to go off first. We had a solo get close to us on 9 east, so we let him pass at the turn.
I will definitely be out a bunch (hopefully 1st again) this summer!
Mediocre all the way around.
Pro shop employee was great. Snack bar took 10-15 mins for a few hotdogs. She was kinda sarcastic and rude.
Love this course
The staff was friendly as always. This is my go to course, and highly recommend it for any skill level. The fairways are like carpet and greens are true. Absolutely love the layout of the east and south courses. A must play if you get a chance
Lots of Choices
Fellows Creek has 3 nine hole courses. Some challenging; Some not. Like 9 south: Par 3; 200 yards; small slanted green; elevated green; Other par 3's look easy, but the water seems to get you. Par 5 on the West course is straight, but woods on both sides. Better hit straight. Fairways open, But, there are plenty of woods and ponds to keep it interesting. Personnel is friendly and efficient. For a public course, it is in great condition. With the three different courses, you do not have to travel to a new course to play a different game.
Just starting going back to Fellows Creek.years ago the staff especially the starters and rangers were like Gestapo agents. So we never went back.
Choices! Choices! Choices!
Played both Saturday and Sunday on 4th of July holiday weekend. Crew did not cut greens on Saturday. It did rain overnight. But still could have been cut. Pace of play was decent from east to west. About 3.5 hrs for our threesome. Played Sunday and the greens were cut. Bad news is they were still slow. Pace of play was dreadful. 4.5 hrs for a twosome. Not a ranger anywhere to be found. All water jugs empty at noon. Did the crew take the weekend off?? Of course someone was there to man the register..........shocking!!! You have choices here......slow greens or slow play? Or both?
Excellent course that has nice fairways. Greens are good but not that fast. Pace of play was average.
Reasonable price and good course.
Course looked beautiful- great fall colors
Course had great conditions. Greens are a little bumpy but to be expected after aeration.
Overall great course
I've lived in the area all my life and have passed this course a million times but never got the chance to play it. Went to a wedding here in July and everything was so beautiful that it really pushed me to play the course. Everything went very well and the course conditions were excellent. Staff was friendly and they even have a cart girl. We played the east course into the west course. Only complaint is that they have a foot golf course with big holes and flags that makes it confusing because you don't really know where to aim at times. This was only on the west course though. Overall a great course that I'm looking forward to playing again.
All in all really good course. Greens are well maintained and the rough wasn't too long given the fall season.
Greens fee with cart for seniors with a fellows creek advantage card went from $20 last season to $35 this season WOW I'm done with this course and ive been playing here since 1972. Staff told me they are trying to be like Pheasant Run
27 holes offers flexibility
because the course has 27 holes, it offers good flexibility. For example, a mens league was teeing off one course, while I played solo on another course. pace of play slowed about 14 holes into the round, which wasnt bad.
Course was in good shape. Somewhat frustrating layout. the south course features back to back par 5's (which i disliked). Some fairways can be narrow. 3 holes on the east course border the highway and are very unforgiving to hooked drives. pleasant experience overall
Thank you for your review! We are glad we were able to accommodate you, and love being able to utilize all three nines to fit golfers in on a daily basis. We hope to see you again soon!
Early in Season
Course had a lot of workers getting it ready for the year. Snack bar was not up and running so bring your own. Early in the season though. Course was a little wet but getting into good shape.
First time playing at the course. . I was very surprised by how excellent the conditions of fairway and greens were in. I can't wait to make this my home course for 2016. Sincerely, Al Mason
