Can't beat it for the price
Nice place. I doubt you'll find a better place for this price. Tee boxes are great. Course is well maintained. Highly recommend
Nice course but rather plain
There's nothing wrong with Wayland, but there's not much pulling me back either. The conditions were good, and even though the greens had just been aerated they rolled shockingly true. I imagine without the aeration they'd be pristine. But unfortunately most of the holes are flat and straight with few distinguishing features.
Play this course before winter is on us.
Short - but to the point. Play this course. In great shape. Staff is awesome. They do lead clearing. The food is run by a 40+ year old local diner - meaning the food is far far above typical golf course short order food. Don’t be fooled by the 6100 yards. What this course gives up in a couple hundred yards it makes up for in difficult par 3s, hole shape and fair but tricky greens.

Great course even better people
Just the right amount of public and private. Example: free tees, ball markers and divot tool - no big deal? Well to me iit says welcome to our course and oh yes please be respectful of other players and fix your ball Marks, please.
Food is great, staff is consistent and more than courteous - plus they know their stuff.
The inner clubs both men’s and women’s . Are top notch. Great events nice people - just good people who love golf.
Don’t be put off by the “mere” 6100 yards from the blues. This course is challenging and never not fair. See if you can shoot to your handicap at Wayland.
Hole number 3 - it will haunt you. Taking a 5 feels like a part - taking a 4 feels like a birdie.

Wayland Country Club
Friendly staff in reception and bar
Well-kept course (Fairways, greens, bunkers and rough)
Moderate prices
Good social atmosphere
Great conditions on a pretty flat course
I had a great round of golf at Wayland Country Club. While it isn’t a very long course, the shorter holes mostly have some challenges., like the just over 200 yard par 4 hole with the sharp dogleg left. You can’t drive that in one. The par 3s are all pretty long except for the downhill 4th, so you have to adjust your club selection to deal with the change in elevation, the par 5 18th is relatively short and straight. Who doesn’t want a birdie chance to end their day?
I didn’t get any food or drink at the clubhouse but there was a large bar and lots of tables as well as a large deck looking out on the 18th. At the turn there was a girl grilling and selling hot dogs and sausages. Drinks in a vending machine. The drink cart came by only once. It would have been nice to see it later in our round when we ran out of water. They did have water coolers at a bunch of tee boxes too.
The tee boxes, fairways, rough and greens were all in very good or better condition. There were a lot of ball marks on the greens, but that’s typical everywhere. They did have free mark repair tools available at check in.
I got a great “Hot Deal” on GolfNow too, so I paid afternoon rates during prime time and got a free cart to boot. I can’t wait to go back.
Short, cheap and forgiving
First thing I always notice when I come here is that the staff is friendly. Pro shop, ranger, starter. It’s a short course, but is well kept. Usually do my first round of the year here to shake off the cobwebs. Very little OB and can play from opposite fairways if needed. Always leave Wayland Country Club satisfied. Weekday rates are cheap and if you can score a hot deal it’s like stealing. Close to Boston, friendly and simple. I play here frequently.
If you are afraid of dragonflies stay away.
Great Value
Family owned, friendly, and helpful staff. Course suits high handicappers(15-20) very well. Not very long, good walking course and in excellent shape. Reasonably priced.
Nice easy course
Neither my wife nor I are good golfers, so Wayland is a great place for us. Not a lot of places to get into trouble, and you basically just hit the ball towards the hole, lather, rinse, repeat. Good for a little exercise without torquing off decent golfers who want a competitive round.
nice course for poor players
I'm a 30 handicap golfer, and my wife only plays when one of my golfing buddies has to cancel. That was the case today at Wayland, and we couldn't ask for a better course for that scenario.
It's flat, not very challenging, beautiful, and well-maintained. Other than some bunkering around the greens, there's not much to hinder one's advancing the ball. Pace of play was a bit slow - we went around in 4:45.
Wouldn’t recommend
Course was a disaster. Extremely wet and barely playable. Layout was lackluster at best. Every hole felt just like the last. Thankfully this round was only 15 bucks.
Early Season , Great Shape
I don't know what these people do to prepare this course for the winter ,but it comes back faster than most places around here. I pulled into the parking lot and that course was green ! They were cutting the greens as I played through!!!! Not overly long or difficult, but always a great round.
