A nice surprise!
This golf course took me by a pleasant surprise!
Playing an 18 holes game for a mere $17 special discounted price, I expected to see a worse than average publuc course. On the contrary, it was a very decent course! Overall course consition was not in its best yet, according to the staff, but the greens were quite fast and true to my liking. Fairways were very playable, despite the rain throughout the night before.
The course is a bit on the short side, and layouts are generally straight without much twist and turns. They tend to be narrow at times, and together with tough rough grass consitions outside fairways, this course can challenge you in your effort to get a low score. It is a nice warm up practice course before you splurge at a premium course.
Smooth Walk
Very flat property with some fun bumps and rolls on the greens. The staff was great, and the clubhouse has a nice little patio to watch players come up the 18th with a cocktail as well. Take a pushcart, or carry your clubs if you can. It’s a very pleasant walk.
Decent Value for your money
Play early as I've heard the pace of play slows by afternoon.
Pace of Play - Horrendous
Played on May 24th and the pace of play was absolutely terrible. 13 holes took almost 5 hours. Players in groups ahead of us were playing multiple balls and at one point there were 3 groups on the same tee box waiting to play the 4th hole. After each shot we probably had a 6-8 minute wait before shooting again. Very frustrating all round.
Course was in good condition.
Nice Place to warm up for the new season
Flat , flat course makes it very walkable. Greens in great shape and relatively fast for public course ; good practice green ; very friendly staff.
Recommend it to anyone who likes to score well as slope from whites only 114.
Good value
Easy course to walk. Very flat and relatively short. I come to this course for the quality of the greens. Staff has always been excellent.
Greens are the star here
Have not played here in 20 years, but got a deal and decided to give it a go. I was pleasantly surprised. From the white tees the course is not very long, but the speed of the greens made up for the shorter yardage. Definitely faster today than the majority of public couses I play. Lots of 2nd putts that we're 4-5' past the hole. Need to watch where you land chips as a number of very short chips in the foursome got on the green and ran quite a bit.
This is fall golf in the Northeast and there were a lot of leaves on the ground making it hard to find balls in the rough and occasionally in some fairways. This slowed down my group and heard the same talking to other groups.
Clubhouse people were friendly. Nice putting green. Believe they have a chipping area that I only saw when partially through back nine. Some of the holes are close - was almost hit on one hole and I landed one to the right of a green where I did not see a group near a tree at the next hole's tee box - might have 4th green and 5th, not sure)..
Fun Course
Fun course that was average to easy in terms of difficulty. In good shape, although the greens had been recently aerated.
Tight course which could at times be a firing range from other tee boxes.
Would play again.
Nice Course
course was in good shape. Greens rolled well. The layout is a little tight in terms of holes being near each other. On the shorter side as well, but I’m ok with that. Not a long hitter. Only complaint is the rough. 1 foot off the fairway and you’re in PGA style rough. Same around the greens. If your ball rills 1 foot off and you’re relatively near the pin, it’s very hard to hit a good shot. But overall, they’re very nice in the pro shop and as a foursome we finished in under 4 hours. Can’t complain about that.
Great shape
The course is in great shape despite the lack of rain. The pace was fine and the length of play time @ 4 hours. We liked the flat landscape and easy to follow layout.
The course was in good condition the greens played fairly fast and very true. Speed of play was good a little less than four hour round
Nice course, Friendly staff
Very nice day on the course. Friendly staff, reasonable pace of play. Rough was a little long as they’re getting ready for a big tournament. Good value for money.
