Fall Golf in Chelsea, MI
The course was in Very good condition for this time of the year. The only disappointment was they didn't remove the leaves in the rough areas of the course which means if you miss the fairway you may have a lost ball to deal with, and we did. Play was also slow most likely because others were looking for lost balls too.
Nice Course
Nice course, nice layout and great greens. You're not going to want to hit driver on all Par 4s and 5s which is the way golf should be, it adds a challenge to it instead of just gripping and ripping.
Good layout, variety, challenge and conditions
Pierce Lake is one of several great public courses in the area. He front offers an open layout with interesting geometry. The back is nighter flowing through the woods and marshes.
The par 3 can be long and the par fives require some thought.
Conditions were soft but dry. The greens were recently punched but have healed. The greens are very large for beginners but have ridges and levels requiring specific shots to score well.
He putting green is huge and the warmup area has grass and a green up to 70 yards. My only issue is the lack of a driving range.
The grill is OK but close to town if you want fiood. The pro shot has the basics but not much else.
Overall a fun course
Pristine course condition
Loved the layout and the condition of the course. The greens could be a little faster. That’s my only critique.
Beautiful Course, Sneaky Tough, Great Value
Holes are very challenging from front to back. Playing from the tips offers golfers with an added challenge of extend brush areas to clear and elevated tee boxes.
The course was super green and lush. Greens were a touch shaggy, but it had rained a lot a few days prior so it was probably tough to mow the following days.
Hole layouts were fun with some challenging dog leg par-5s and had some interesting protected greens mixed in.
Price is well worth the value here and I'll definitely travel an hour+ to play it again. Cudos to the maintenance crew for the great upkeep.
Pierce lake
Great layout and course was in excellent condition
Beautiful course, great game!
We met up with friends, and had a great time. Front 9 we played with good timing, the back 9 we had to wait every hole. (They played from longer tees, and were having a good time.)
The golf carts are electric and super smooth!
We saw deer, woodchuck, fox, sand hill cranes, bunnies, and many birds. The setting is so picturesque!
Will definitely recommend and return.
Awesome Course....horrible bunkers
My favorite course.
Since beginning of season bunkers have been a nightmare....earlier in season I ruined a SW hitting out of bunker behind 14 hole...so now I won't hit out of them.
There is very little sand...mostly dirt but there are rocks the size of golf balls throughout out them....I pulled half a dozen last round....Post Covid a lot of courses bunkers aren't great but these are dangerously unplayable...not worth ruining clubs to play out of.
Really good course, small improvements would easily make this a 5 star
This course was beautiful. The staff was really nice and professional. The beverage cart lady even offered to take our garbage. The pace of play was slow, not the fault of the course. They even approached us and said they were trying to get it moving and apologized for the inconvenience. My only suggestion to make this a 5 star course is the bunkers. There is nowhere near enough sand. They did not look well maintained. There were large rocks we found in almost every bunker. They were so big and frequent that we did not even chance hitting out of the bunkers.
