Fairways and greens were a little dry...rough very dry.
Not that visually impressive. Decent for the money!
Great golf but they may not be open these days...
I liked the course but when I arrived to play last Saturday (Aug 26) the clubhouse had burned down due to an overnight fire. Not sure when they'll be open again.
Very interesting country golf course.
I live close and golf in a league at Reddeman Farms. It's one of my favorites based upon cost vs course challenge. Interesting golf and the greens are deceivingly tough. Enjoy the scenery, the challenge and the nice clubhouse & staff!
Been playing here for years! New Mgt this year and the paths and overall course seems run down.
UGH!!!
No drinking water, no starter , no ranger. There were grass and weeds in the bunkers. Very few yardage markers. Half the carts had no windshields. Don't waste your time playing here.
Sadly that is what you get with a Vargo Golf run property!
Not worth the money
Not a bad course if the price was fair. Way over priced for bad greens and fairways. So beat up and not taken care of very well. Friendly staff though
Located in the "sticks". Desperately needs new greens, cart paths, carts, sand, and grass on the tee boxes!
You'll be on a dirt road for the last 1.5 miles to get to Reddeman Farms. I want to say it's worth the car wash that your car now requires. However, it's not! First impressions suggest that this will be good golf experience due to the nicely styled clubhouse and nicely paved parking lot. And the green fees did not disappoint ($28). But, the golf carts are about 5 years past requiring replacement. The putting green is well maintained. However, it is night and day different than the actual putting experience on the course. I estimate that 5% of the course greens are dead. More important - the greens are "tricked-up." They play smaller due to their upside down bowl shape. Also, they have more undulation then a typical roller coster. The sand traps, which are mostly hidden, are begging for more fresh sand. The tee boxes are begging for grass. The cart paths are begging for new asphalt. In the middle of the course, there are signs on back to back par 5's that state "cart path only." Both holes were bone dry the day I played. Makes me wonder if the course superintendent ever changes the signage. Finally, about a third of tee shots were "blind." When a course has a blind hole, they need to install a pole in the distance as an aiming device. The day I played, we were behind two fivesomes. Thankfully, they quit after the first nine. When we finished golfing and went into the clubhouse for a cold one, the pro shop staff asked " how did it go." When I started to tell him about the conditions and state of the greens, he was clearly not interested in my opinion. The following is some free advice - if you are not willing to listen to feedback about the course, then don't ask!
Slow play poor condition
Course had 1 slow group holding up 6 other groups 3hour front nine. Tee boxes from whites and blues were in terrible shape. Greens ok with several rough patches late in season. Fairways were ok
Rough
Nice layout but the course was in rough condition. Greens were beat up and had a lot of dead grass dirt spots. Cart girl came by 10 times during the round without stopping while our group was on the tee or on the green. Needs a lot of work for me to return.
Work to do.
The course lay out, and beautiful rural setting made the round well worth it. The challenge to the grounds crew are the greens, which were in bad condition. If they are able to improve the conditions on and around the greens this course would be outstanding.
Reddeman 3some
As always course played very nice even due to the dry weather they maintain the greens ; Green.couple of outings at the time so kitchen was closed. But the dogs were still good. Nice course.
Decent Course for the money
great course for the time we played, course is in a great condition for early April.
Country friendly
We were the only ones on the course most of the day, a little chilly! Very friendly out on a gravel road country style course. Well worth the money!
Will play again
They had the oversized cups in from a scramble earlier that day which made it fun being able to chip in from the rough, but those greens would be a great challenge otherwise. Great staff, course was in really good shape and they haven't aerated the greens yet!
Nice course, but several groups starting off on 10 as we tried to make the turn
Wednesday afternoon round - 18 riding with my wife on a beautiful day.
Front 9 was excellent - started with the nearest group 3-4 holes ahead of us. The book showed no one teeing off after us for the next half hour. Pace of play dictated entirely by us - finished the front 9 in about an hour and 30 minutes. Course was in pretty good shape. Enjoyable layout with some challenge in the holes.
Made the turn and things ground completely to a halt. The course must have been starting people off the 10th tee in front of us because as soon as we reached the 10th tee, there was a group on the tee, a group on the fairway, and a group on the next tee. Maybe more but I couldn't see that far. After playing the front 9 in about 90 minutes, it took 60-70 minutes for the next 4 holes. It was slow enough that we gave up, drove back to the clubhouse, and left. I wanted to ask inside what happened, but there was no one there to talk to.
I like the course - I've been there a number of times - and I find the value usually to be pretty good. This time was pretty disappointing. Particularly for my wife, it wasn't a good first impression. It definitely will affect the likelihood and frequency of going back.
[NOTE: I wasn't sure about recommending the course to a friend after this visit. I preferred not to answer that question, since it probably depends on a number of factors. But I couldn't submit the review without answering yes or no, so I had to go with one or the other.]
Great Value
The course was in great shape. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a great value for the holiday.
Disgruntled Employee
Ratings for the course are high but read on.
Was greeted with expressed displeasure in the use of Golf Now to pay for Tee Time. Person indicated he was a PGA member and felt that Golf Now was ruining golf. This displeasure continued as we purchased beverages for the first nine and when we stopped at the turn to replenish beverages. (The same person was working the front desk and the bar). We love the course but really felt like we were thorns in his side for using the Golf Now service. Since he said he was a PGA member I would expect this displeasure to be taken out on Golf Now not the customer (he should know better). Hopefully this guy was just having a bad day since we like the course. We have plenty of good choices in the area so hopefully this was a one time experience or we will chose elsewhere to golf.
Best value for the money
Friendly staff. Nice course. Well maintained clean course.
Highly recommend this course. Pretty wide-open and in great shape!
