Wonderful Course!
Had to go to the Detroit area on business and decided to play a course in the area. Sorted golf now choices by customer ratings and this one came out on top. Having played it, I see why. Absolutely in excellent condition tee to green! Almost like playing an expensive resort course. We were there on a Monday so it wasn't terribly crowded. My fiance and I played the first seven holes in just under an hour before we caught up to the group ahead of us on number 8. Took another half hour to play 8 and 9. We stopped for lunch at the turn and you should too. The burgers are to die for. Our thinking was we'd let the group ahead of get out on the back nine and we'd catch them around hole 6 or so and it wouldn't slow us down much. It didn't quite work out that way. We had started ahead of two older women on the front nine and forgot about them since there was no one to slow us up. We took and hour for lunch and when we went to the tee on the back side, these two women were just teeing off. Needless to say, they've never heard of the concept of letting faster golfers play through so the back nine took over two and a half hours. Frustrating but the weather was perfect so we just tried to relax and deal with it. Because of the course conditions and the weather it turned out fine. If you're in the area this is one course you shouldn't miss!
Early good conditions
Every sand bunker was raked and every green was cut . Very fast green speed for this time of season
Spring golf @ Pine Knob
This early in the season the course conditions were in near peak season form.
Pine Knob Golf
Staff was very friendly and willing to rain check my tee time if the weather took a turn for the worse, luckily it became perfect for golf.
I was the only one on the course and I had the time of my life. Secluded quiet holes, excellent course conditions.
Would go again.
Also tall boys for the beers at the clubhouse :)
Nice Course
It's always enjoyable playing this course. It's in great shape. The greens run true and are fair. The fairways are nicely groomed. The pace of play was a little slow, but not too unbearable. I would recommend, especially with the fall rates.
Great golf course
Friendly staff, course was in perfect condition as always.
Beautiful course, very well maintained. Enjoyed playing the course today. Greens were very challenging, not many flat surfaces. Definitely will play this course again.
Beautiful
Loved the course. It would have been nice to see a beverage cart at least once.
Solid Alternative But Was Slow
We played the Eagle and Falcon. Pine Knob is always a solid choice to play golf. At times it can be slow. They need to have a Ranger more active. We had a 3-some in front of us, we called Molassis 1, 2 and 3. Brutally slow. We had a foursome on the front nine and waited. The twosome with us only played 9 holes so we played as a twosome on the back mine so we were faster but the foursome behind us were catching us because we waited so long for the Molassis 3-some. They were putting and grinding over 12 inch putts. 😱🤯
Great course, slow play
Pine knob golf course was in great shape. But the pace of play was incredibly slow.. Would have given 5 star but had to knock it down a few due to pace of play. Need to spread out times better
