Great course for a nice day outside.
It was great except for the home owner on the 9th hole. She sat outside just waiting to yell at people that might go a bit out of bounds. She shouldn’t live on a golf course of she doesn’t expect a golf ball or 2 in her backyard. Otherwise the experience was awesome.
Pine Knob in April
Played the Eagle to Hawk. The course was in perfect condition for April. The only issue was #1 at the Hawk, the tee boxes were located at the start of the fairway making it like a 175 yr par 3 instead of a par 4. All in all a perfect day at Pine Knob.
SpringGolf
Great deal using GolfNow. Playing Pine Knob anytime is fun. Very nice course regardless of which of the three nines you play. And, having the opportunity to play it in early spring was excellent. Course is in good shape, even this early in the season.

Such an awesome course! With the Mansion at Your back, Teeing off on the highest point in Oakland county is a sight to see :)
Will def be back loved golfing Pine Knob !!
July 2023
Everyone from the pro shop to the starter and grounds keepers are some of the best in Oakland county. Pleasant, easy to approach and friendly. Rain water is constantly being worked on, keeping the course playable.
Rough disorganized experience. Bought a hot deal at 8:30 am for an 11:30 am tee time (18 holes) as a single. Show up at 11 and am told I’ll have to ride with another random single (kinda cheap never have had to do this before). Then I’m told there’s a 50 minute delay. Finally I’m told I can play 9 on the hawk by myself. I play 9 holes in like an 1 hour. Then I’m told there’s no other spots for me to play another 9 when I hit the turn. Seems hard to believe that a single couldn’t finish 9 holes on a 27 hole course. Got a rain check for the other nine. But all in all a pretty bad experience especially on my birthday. The course is okay but not amazing, tees are a little below average, greens are decent, a lot of forced tee shots where you can’t hit driver. Overpriced for what it is, the only way I would golf there again is if I got another hot deal.
Ranger issue
The rangers were telling us to speed up and skip holes, but when we stopped putting and picked up our ball, there were 2 sets of people on the next hole so we could not go ahead. This happened twice! The rangers need to get their facts story.
They overbooked their tee times couldn’t finish before dark
This is a classic example of “only as good as your worst feature.”
The course is a fun mix of challenge and playability,
In great shape considering the lack of rain and hot dry weather
The carts and club house are all well taken care of..
This could easily be one of the best public courses
Except
Like many public courses they are still trying to maximize profits by overbooking their tee times and not managing slow players
Wife and I are good golfers, not great but good and for it to be 2:30 minutes for 7 holes of golf and being asked to leave because it’s dark before the 8th tee is a problem..
Not being able to finish because they won’t speed up their league games is a problem.. waiting 15-20 minutes between tee shots because league players take 27 practice swings and play three balls is a problem..
Letting players wander the woods and fish out golf balls with their retrievers is a problem
They need a ranger who will enforce pace of play..
If I ever went back and could play 9 holes in 2:30 minutes my review would go up dramatically..
