Basic, but fun
It's a typical Donald Ross design. Short but challenging. It's what you would expect from a public course. Condition is good, not much to complain about. I do recommend the East course over the West course.
OK
Showed up 40 minutes early as was told I was to early to check in. Told to come back in 20 minutes. HUH! Starter was nice enough to pair me up early with a twosome. Only Problem, the group ahead was 6 guys, 4 bags and 3 carts. I confronted the Starter and he informed he talked to them and said they had to split into two groups. Lasted for a hole. The front group, four kept dropping back to talk with the two. Marshall tried but had his hands full. Don't know what happened but they disappeared after 8 holes. Thank God!
Thanks for your review at Warren Valley GC, we appreciate your honest feedback. We will inform our staff of the pace of play situation, although we try our best to start golfers as close to their tee time reservation as possible at busier times. We appreciate your understanding and we hope you come back and see us again!
too many pot holes on course
ground has way to many pot holes. worse that driving on michigan roads.
Oh! Sorry to hear that, we appreciate your feedback on the course. We'll have our staff audit the course conditions and make sure it's up to par for your next round at Warren Valley GC. See you again!
Great course if it hasn't rained in a while
I've played this course a couple of times, and if you come in after it's rained a few days or so prior, you wont enjoy your experience, but if you play it in a dry week, you'll love it.
Staff is fantastic, however I've never seen a beverage cart out and about, so load up early or at the turn.
Awesome! Thank you for taking the time to review Warren Valley GC we are so happy to hear you enjoy the course - come out again and see us on a drier week!
Carleton Review
The course is very nice except for the bumpy fair ways.
Needs work
Played this course on a great weather day. Staff at club house for check in and starter were pretty gruff but the beverage cart and snack shop at the turn very friendly.
Biggest downside course poorly maintained. Fairways too tall, leaves and branches all over the course. Hard to find balls on fairway shots. (We wen't the only ones, came across numerous balls left behind, which made finding ours even harder)
Course design was confusing, sometimes difficult to tell where next hole was, and greens and teeboxes on top of each other too frequently. Holes are wide though and minimal water and sand, making it a forgiving course. There is a par 3 on the back 9 though that is evil.
Yes, it was a budget course, but there are better budget courses out there.
Fun and play
I think that this course have a nice layout with a lot of trees and for the price you can't complained. I like it, is one of my favorites.
Good for the cost
Staff is great. We booked a little over an hour before we tee'd off and they were very accommodating. They also serve before noon on a Sunday, which was also helpful to my poor play. I definitely will return.
Average course
Not bad if you can get a good deal or are just looking to get around fairly quickly.
Great value
For $10 what can you say... Great weather, fairly empty course... cruised through
Been Playing for a Number of Years
Been playing at Warren Valley for a number of years. Course is always in good condition. Not a very difficult course to play. I have always enjoyed the East Course better than the West. Would recommend it to others.
Average difficulty level
This course has a lot of challenging holes but not enough to destroy your score card. I like that it's not to easy but not to hard of a course. It will challenge your game with hills, peaks and valleys but if u can hit the ball straight you will be in good shape. Overall, great views on many holes and hard enough to challenge any intermediate golfer
not bad
pretty nice course. Greens were not very difficult. Ranger was a bit of a Richard.
Challenging Course but Fun
Course well kept, staff friendly. I lost a few balls but overall enjoyed the outing.
Warren Valley East Course
Great course for the price. Well maintained. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I would recommend the course to all.
Anice day with friends
the day was beautiful, the course was in good shape considering that the day before we had a large amount of rain we. The staff is very friendly and the hot deal price we paid was excellent.
How do I give this 0 stars
Dump. Pace of play is a free for all. Staff seemed burdened by my presence at the counter. Virtually unmanaged. Terrible condition. Not maintained......and for the price it is still a horrid track.
Nothing special, but the price was right
We played at Warren Valley on a Saturday as a twosome. The GN price of $18 was very reasonable to play anywhere on a weekend. There had been alot of rain so I was worried about water on the course, but it really was not bad. The course in general is in average condition. The rough is very bumpy and you feel like you're offroading in your cart. The greens were sloped and mildy challenging. What I didn't care for with the course is how close together the three 9's are. Golfers were all over the course like ants and you frequently had people on your hole hitting their stray shots or oncoming golfers hitting into you as you tried to take a second or third shot. The holes are mostly straighforward with a few doglegs here and there and some elevation changes. For the money it's a fun place to play.
Thanks for playing at Warren Valley GC! We are glad you made it out and found the course fun yet challenging. Come back again soon!
