Great for what it is - beginner course

The layout is fun - particularly across the street for holes 8-18. There's elevated tee boxes, drive-able par 4's, greens at the top of a hill that you better hit or your ball is rolling 20 yards off, greens surrounded by hills where you can miss by 10 yards and still make it on, heavy sloped greens, deep bunkers, short dogleg par 4's, a par 3 with a blind tee shot, Huron is by far the most unique course I've played this summer.

The city wants this to be a course for beginners and walkers - they have another course for more serious golfers. Financial issues caused them to bring carts on the course, but it's great to see that they still keep it under $20 to walk 18 holes, and juniors/seniors can walk 9 holes for $10.

This course was in the worst condition out of the 30+ courses I've played this year. Several holes had essentially no fairway, just rough. Tee boxes were brutal. The ground on the back 9 was rock hard. There's no driving range, just a net to hit into to the left of 10.

We finished 18 holes in under 3 hours, and got to play a fun unique course for a cheap price. Well worth it.

This is a good value course, not a destination course

While far from a fancy course, from a value perspective it's really hard to beat Huron Hills in the Ann Arbor area. The front seven are fairly flat and straightforward (spray away), in contrast to the next 11, which play shorter, hillier, and with more doglegs (accuracy matters more). Pace of play is great most of the week but can slow down on weekends because golfers of all levels enjoy this course. Conditions are okay (good greens, decent fairways, okay rough and sand), and overall good enough for the low greens fee. If you want a social round, a
round with non-serious golfers, a quick round on off hours, or just want to keep your spending down, Huron Hills is a very good choice!

Annoying foot golfers

Young foot golfers were running every where. Not playing the designed course, just making up there own holes. They need to understand this is not a play ground and it is dangerous for little kids to be criss-crossing the golf course. If this is not corrected someone may get seriously injured.

Mediocre Golf at best

The first seven holes are east of E. Huron River Drive and are very easy and, to be honest, pretty forgettable. The remainder of the course is on the west side of Huron Dr. These holes are markedly different as they are on hills with one hole running uphill and the next downhill among mature trees. Par fours are short with doglegs making them pretty easy pars, while par 3s are long and uphill making pars pretty difficult. Lots of distractions with ground crew and youth golf camps going on. All and all, not a great round of golf. Probably won't play again

Good for Beginers

Hot afternoon. Played with a friend whom had not played in 25 years. We allowed a couple of singles to play through but never felt rushed. The greens are nice and open promoting faster play.

Worth it for 10 bucks other than that don't go.

It's a par 67 course to start. The back 9 has no par 5's.
#9 is under repair for the last 50 yards of the fairway.
If you can hit a drive 260-300 half the holes are driveable. There are a few holes that are par 4 under 250. Greens are in pretty decent shape for the most part.

It is a fun practice course. If you want to be challenged go elsewhere. If you want perfect greens, go elsewhere. If you want long holes go elsewhere.

Staff is friendly and they have a pretty decent hot dog.

I grew up next to this course, never would pay more than 10 to play it.

Love this course

I always love playing at Huron Hills. Not a long course, but offers some challenges to every player. Currently, the tee box for hole 8 and the greens for hole 9 & 18 are having some flooding issues. I overshot the green on 18 and found myself in a pole of water which once was a bunker. Other than the flooring problems the course was in good condition and the pace of play was great. I played as a single and finished the course in 3 hours. I had several interactions with the course staff this time around and they were always very friendly. I will be back to play this course again many times, I am lucky it is practically in my backyard.

Nice Little Course

Nice little course, par 68 - par 32 on the back with 4 par 3's and no par 5's. Wasn't crazy about that. Wide open on the front, but very scenic and hilly on the back. Rough was a little long, and greens pretty slow, but considering all the rain we've had lately, course was in fair condition. I would definitely play again, but only via another hot deal from golfnow or lastminutegolfer!

Huron Hills Gilf Course is a great place to play a round aof golf and make new friends.

I have been golfing for three years now. So, this years I decided to get serious about my game by golfing three to four days per week. Normally, when I golf I'll drive 44 miles to Jackson, Mi to golf with my brothers. There are times that I will golf with a co worker or my wife. However, each time that I go in the Ann Arbor, Mi area I prefer Huron Hills, that is because it's very challenging, the course is maintained, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Also with golf now golfing is affordable, Ron J

Solid Day of Golf

Course was in good shape. Rough was pretty thick so stay in the fairway and greens. Started the day off in a lil rain but after the first hole, became beautiful after that.

Go to the range instead...

Terrible greens, don't expect to make any putts. Short, narrow and with poor drainage - you will find yourself hitting lots of wedges off wet ground, expect fat shots aplenty. If this course was not funded by exorbitant Ann Arbor property taxes it would be unviable.

Fun course, very firm greens

Really enjoyed playing here, and looking forward to doing so again. I didn't expect elevation changes to be a feature in Michigan, compared to our Washington courses - pleasantly surprised. Also loved that water hazards weren't a significant issue.

We love to play Huron Hills.

I played Huron Hills for the third time and brought my 13 year old. We were both very impressed by the course and facilities. The course is just over 5,000 yards from the longest tees, but all 7 par 3 holes are relatively long (136 to 231 yards; with 5 holes over 169) so it makes for a nice mix and makes up for some of the short par 4 holes on the back 9 (4 par 4 holes between 239 and 276). Although, those short par 4's are a lot of fun because you have the opportunity to drive the green 4 times (plus the 231 par 3 number 4). The course is well maintained with lots of mature trees, undulating fairways, elevated tee boxes and the greens were in excellent shape. The staff was very friendly. The course is a great place to take a child who is learning the game. I belive this will become my go to course when I'm golfing with my son. Oh, and it's usually $10-$20 per person with a cart through GolfNow.com (nice!).
