Great improvements over the past few years
They have really made this a nice gold course for the money . Offers some very challenging Holes. Staff is great.
I like this course
I've been there three times so it looks so good.
I like to play golfing in Glen oak because it is good place to play golfing with my friends and its staff is also very kind.
Very good Course with good maintenance
Course is clean and well maintained
Good length of holes with some holes with difficulty
hole number 2 ,5 and 14 are challenging holes but once you play this course, it gives you better idea where to place the ball on these holes.
Tremendous Valueon a nice track.
Have played Glen Oaks numerous times through the years. Is usually in nice condition, cut, manicured, etc, Rate was$10.00 dollars with a cart. Was terribly wet due to the rain the night before. But all in all was convenient, played in 4 hours and rangers and staff was very friendly.
For the money and time invested was a very pleasurable experience and played just tough enough to make it challenging,
golf ranger
The course was back up and it appeared to be a long wait. However, the gold ranger handle it fabulously. That's why I booked a tee time for the following Sunday.
Sincerely,
One happy golfer.
Great Course for the price
Got a great deal. 18holes for $10. w/Cart
Perfect course, great location. Not too challenging. well kept & maintained. May want to get a cart, considering its quite a walk.
Quite a few bunkers, but the wide fairways and the absence of too much water makes up for it.
Decent course.
Too many families with parents in the cart and children walking which made for a long day.
Also ranger did not address our group appropriately when asked to speak to group ahead of us about e.g. too many provisional shots, 4-5 putting on the green.
I am very undecided about returning regardless of the cost.
stormy day
tough course unless you are down the middle every time.. long(er) par 3s.. in good shape.. rough is definitely rough though and all fairways lined with lots of trees!!
Slow play,
A lot of walkers on this course in the mornings, no rangers to monitor the pace of play. Hacks in front would not let us play thru... Called clubhouse to ask about a ranger, only to be put on hold....
early morning
early morning great 7am just after the sunrise groups open 4 a bit then got real busy my round unencumbered by other golfers
Meh
Starter was very nice got us ahead of a family. Tee's and Fairways were in good shape but the greens had so many ball marks it was ridiculous. The Pro Shop should hand out the cheap plastic repair tools. You'd think that people capable of hitting a green would have the etiquette to repair their marks. Not the fault of the course. Bunkers were actually raked and in great shape.
Would play the course again if it was a Hot Deal but would not pay more than $20.
amazing course
great course. entire course tee to green is in excellent condition. course can play hard or fairly easy, but a lot of fun to play. only complaint is when teeing off early, when making the turn they tend to send new guys out on the back. can slow you down a tad if behind the wrong group
Incredibly slow play on the front 9
ALL types of golfers enjoy this course including but not limited to kids who can't golf, families and many others who don't have golf etiquette. However, call to the club house helped some as they sent out a ranger. The course itself is in the best condition I've seen in years, I play at least a round of golf a week. I'll come back to Glen Oaks again, though it will be in the early bird hours.
Fun course
Great value, and the elevation changes off the tee on some holes made for a visually appealing round.
Potential to be a great course
While the course is near me, I had never played it before because I find most of the County courses to be a little boring. I was pleasantly surprised - fairways/greens/bunkers were in great shape and course design was interesting. Only 2 things to criticize:
1. When I arrived, the course did not recognize I had made a Golfnow reservation (their website connection was down when the reservation was made so Golfnow had called the course). Glad I brought a printed copy of my receipt. Still took 15 minutes to sort it all out with the gal behind the counter and the starter.
2. Fairways were cut awfully narrow - probably cost me 5 strokes when, what seemed to be good drives, were in the rough. Fortunately grounds crews had the rough at a reasonable length.
Good Course to play
We have played team of 4. I and other guy walked 18 holes and the other two were on ride. We have finished the total play in 4 1/2 hours.
Not bad.
I think this course is average across the board. I payed $30 for the round. I admit I'm frugal, but it seems like you can find deals for the $30-$40 range at a little bit nicer of courses. I would play this course again at a $20-$25 rate.
Nice staff…fun
Very early in the season so the greens were a little rough.
