Behind the 2nd green. Medium length, tight par 5. Severe slopes in green. Views get even better than this Photo submitted by BuffaloBen15 on 07/08/2019

The third tee. Tight shot. You can catch one of those tree limbs if your not careful. Photo submitted by BuffaloBen15 on 07/08/2019

The fourteenth green. Second longest par 4 on the course. Downhill about 30 feet. Nice view of the farm just beyond and it goes to show how well this course blends into the Mid-Michigan countryside Photo submitted by BuffaloBen15 on 07/08/2019
Eagle glen in farewell michigan
1 of the best courses in mid michigan for the price and quality .
Worth the drive
This heather type course was a hidden gem, a Jerry Matthews design which was in very good condition. The course was moderately difficult but very fair. The greens were a little slower than normal as they had just cut them but the greens had not been rolled. It looks like the course gets a lot of play from the people around the area.
Great course...
Only complaint... we got stuck behind a league at the turn who seemed unwilling to let us play through at first.
Staff needs to let them know that a group is going to be making the turn and to let them play through.
Great course!
Great course! Perfect conditions, quick greens and were super smooth. A good layout of links holes and some trees and water. Want to play it again!!
Place is just so so Member issues
Check in easy. Got to the tee Ok... A 2 some consisting of 2 members of this place were behind a group of 3 players who were behind us.. They made effective use of their cell phone to keep calling clubhouse to complain of slow play... Why on earth would they schedule a tee time in early part of the day as twosome and expect to play as though they owned the place is beyond me...rangers were sympathetic to our cause and we let them play through... But very bad behavior on Susie Cell phone with type AA personality... She ought to take up knitting or something. Thus.. Counter personnel should not have scheduled them in midst of a Threesome and a foursome on a Sunday A.M... Hope next time I play here--- Susie Cell Phone finds new pastime and has given up golfing.

Love the greens!
Had a great time playing Eagle Glen.
Variety pack of holes in the layout.
Greens ran true.
Thanks for the experience.
British golf
We never expected this course in this town. It is a links course combined with a regular layout. Will play it again
Very Slow Round
5 1/2 hour round for two people AND the front nine played relatively fast - No Marshall on the back nine and some very inconsiderate golfers.
Course is in good shape and somewhat linksey, but a few holes have trees? - not a true links course. The cart paths are excessively far away from greens, tees, range - the marshall on the front nine asked us to stay on paths. Slow play and picky marshalls who don't actually do the job we want them to do - never again!
Beautiful corse
This course is long and very forgiving with a lot of strategically placed sand and high heather. Scenery is very nice and the fairways are Mint.
Great Course
I really enjoyed playing Eagle Glen. It has the perception of being wide open as there are little to no trees but every hole has deep weeds that get you in trouble if you aren't hitting your tee shots straight. The fairways and greens were in excellent shape and some of the greens had very challenging slopes.
Rude Staff, long waits
I have golfed here many times, each time that I used GolfNow I've had problems with staff members during check-in. Ranger has no idea what is going on half the time, which means long waits.
Fit for a King
This course was named for the Eagle, but it was born under the sign of the snake. What this course lacks in elevation change it makes up for in sheer audacity. It is long (made longer with a twist at every turn), but fair. It's judicious nature balances on a pin's head between the challenge of a championship course and a need to attract weekenders, out-of-towners, and members. By that, I mean that it could have been turned into a carnival attraction very easily in an attempt to exaggerate.
It may not have the vistas of the middle hills of Gaylord or the rocky rills of Marquette, nor the swamps and moss of the Canadian Lakes, but it is one of the few courses where I can remember every single hole in succession, though I've only played there several times. I can't say that about some of my favorite courses I've played many times over. It is immaculately manicured, and the staff are very friendly, even when you park too close to the tee box (wink, wink). If you haven't played the back side, it is one of the best stretches of golf in lower Michigan. I can't wait to play it tomorrow. I'm going low!
Side Note: One mile down the road is a great little town called Farwell. If you're thirsty after your round, DJ's will accommodate with very helpful staff and good home-cooked food.
If you take 115 north about 15 miles you'll come upon an antique store on your right, just as you cross the Muskegon River. That's my store... Restore Galore. Stop in and take a guided tour of a living museum at no charge... but what items you leave with.
waiting
I (we) love this golf course, we play here about 10 times a year. The course is always in very good condition, very well cared for, although some of the planted areas g=could use some love and tender care.
The only minus point we have is that the pass of play is slow. And that is not necessary. People playing from the back Tees , where it is obvious that they should be playing from the middle Tees slows down play by at least 30 minutes per 9 holes., If they were to play from the middle tees, they would have to look for their balls that often and would speed up play, or they could let people trough so that a 2 some doesn't have to wait on every hole and often on every shot. And even looking for balls should be NOT longer then 5 minutes, but that is also something they haven't heard of.So maybe the ranger could help out here.
It doesn't help play if you have to wait all the time, rhythm is gone and scoring gets worse and the fun is lost.
If it wasn't such a beautiful course we would probably not play there that often, but the course makes up for the slow play.
Hidden gem!
Great course, very open, yet challenging with many bunkers and tall grassy hazards! Amazing value!
Great course landscape
Well maintained from tee to green. Some nice and unique holes. Course played a little easier due to the short cut of the heather (tall grass) but will be a major hazard w/i the next month. Overall very nice.
Nice course, but grounds crew a bit rude
Friendly and casual course. Average difficulty. We had a bit of an issue with grounds crew (with loud machinery) on a couple of holes making us feel like we were in the way.
Great course
We had a great time at Eagle Glen - the course was in great condition and the bunkers and raised hills around the course made it challenging.
Unique links style course, I would like to play it again now that I am familiar with the layout.
I liked the course layout and would like to play it again.
