Interesting Course
The holes varied from meadow links style to holes cut through the forest to holes that had forced carries across swampy lagoons. Very interesting course to play. The clubhouse was just a large modular trailer but the course was in good condition. Many holes you needed to cross community development streets to get to the next tee box. It was fun to play. I golfed as a single and got the round done in two hours and 40 minutes. I will play it again when in the area which is good ways from anything! :)
Bowen Lake is a winner!
Enjoyed playing course. Has some challenging holes and in great shape!
fun challenging course
The course was in great condition and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Nice course
Played this course years ago. A good course for all players. Will definitely play it again. Real nice shape
Another nice Round
I play here 1-2 a year and thoroughly enjoy it! The course is well maintained and the staff are very friendly. The course runs in and out of the woods so you have some tight fairways and some wide open ones. Challenging but you can be rewarded with a good round if you keep it straight!
Great value would go again for sure!
Great value would go again for sure! Worth the drive!
A great course and a great value
I would recommend this course to all level of players. Challenging enough and yet rewarding.
Nice layout, great par 3's
I haven't played Bowen Lake in awhile & I was impressed with the layout. A pretty course without too many houses around. It has some very pretty par 3's. I've seen the course in better shape, but it's still not bad. One caveat; the bunkers look nice but they need to rake them deeper. There was enough sand just they were only raked down 3". The course has some narrow holes & some pretty wide open holes. A fun course to play!
this course has bent grass fairways and nice greens
This an awsome course. The bent grass fairways and links styling give this course a great look. Challenging greens with good speed make for great round of golf.
Nice day
The coarse was wide open, it was in good shape from tee to greens. The greens were not that good for the mild wet summer we have had. They need to work on them. Overall this is a great track. To play a hot deal for 10 bucks is a great deal!
Great deal fun course
To play this course for under $20 is the best deal in the area by far. Fun and challenging layout, beautiful scenery and in pretty good shape. Will be back every chance I get
Best Value in West Michigan
Course is maintained perfectly, greens are true and fair. Course seems to always be in perfect condition. Staff is excellent. Course layout is fun. There's a lot of good things about this course, well worth the drive.
Great Deal on Weekday Tee Time
Course was in good shape. Only complaint is greens seemed to run at different speeds. One hole long, next hole short. Very frustrating for a good player.
Bumpy Ride
course is fun to play, in pretty good shape. However, the cart paths are bumpy and not paved in many areas. Needs work, so you don't have too hold on getting to or leaving a tee area.
This course is a MUST PLAY!!!
As a former PGA Club Professional, I found this course to be in great shape with a fun yet challenging layout. Best course I have played in the greater Grand Rapids area. A definite Must Play!!!
Where is the water?
I have golfed this course many times and have never found the course in this condition before. The greens, fairways, and roughs were all dry and the grass dormant at best. I don't understand it, the course did not get in this shape overnight. I have always looked forward to golfing this course a few times a year but I think I will wait and give them a try next year. Too bad.
Do Not Go Back...
I am not sure what happened to this course? I have played it for years but it wasn't until this spring, where prices were raised without improvements to the course and the customer service took a dive for the worst, that it because my least favorite in the Grand Rapids area. I have never been treated so poor at ANY course in my life. I will not, nor will any of my friends be back to this course until they get their act together and fix many of the condition issues they seem to have arrived with their new lack of customer service.
Nice course to play, challenging
I have played this couse several times. Challenging yet playable. If you are on your game you can score good. Mishit shots will cost you. Nice layout and well taken care of. Pace of play always seems to be good here and we are normally fast players.
The Course is a GREAT VALUE
I booked my round on GOLFNOW and played for $9.99. I could not believe it when two of the nearest courses were going to cost $25 - $35 to play on equal courses. The course was not busy and I even practiced in the practice area by myself for almost 1 1/2 hours before my round.
The course was is very good condition, and because I have played it before made it easier to play well.
I would recommend this course to anyone to play from about 4-20 handicap.
nice course
Very nice course. Great views and great lay out. Look forward to playing it again.
