Course is in amazing shape!

Entire course was perfectly green. Rough is a little thicker than usual but not a spot of brown on the entire course.

Great Course; Terrible Pace of Play

It is too bad that the lack of management can ruin a round at this course. Paying $85 for a 5 hour Monday morning round is ridiculous. Course is in great shape and I always enjoy playing the variety of holes at Oak Quarry. The new carts are great with one of the best GPS systems I have ever seen on a cart. Unfortunately we spent the round waiting on every hole. I don’t mean some or most of the holes. I mean we waited on every single hole. There were ZERO Marshalls on the course. They take your money and then you are on your own. Tee times are every 8 minutes so they can throw as many people on the course as possible. Surprised they don’t allow fivesomes. Oh yeah, and a Saturday morning 9:00 time is $190??. I’m sure they will sell out as golf is so popular right now, but at some point people will grow tired of the lack of customer service combined with the high price, regardless of the quality of the course

Lost its value

If you are paying $125+ for a round, you expect that the pace if play is well managed. This Saturday, we tee off 30 minutes later from our tee time. The course is packed in like sardines, waiting on every hole, resulting in a 5+ hour round. Due to the delay, were unable to finish. Paying full price and not finishing is tragic.

Oak Quarry

Rode the Whites (6028/69.0/126) with Perry, Chuck and Dave for a GK Cup match in 4H, 15M. Watched some really good golf, wish I could have participated more in the making of it than I did. The weather was clear, sunny and mostly calm in the 70's. $79 a little stiff during the week.

Tees were bizaare. On almost every tee box, one side was like playing out of the rough, whereas the other side was thin and sanded? Had no challenges finding a level lie on all holes, but not close to good overall.

Fairways were mostly good to play from. More winter thin than lush and a few collection areas had alot of old divots.

Primary rough was lush and thick. Punitive in that balls sat down, but good in that it was so thick good chance errant shots did not make it to the native areas.

Sand traps were mediocre. No rakes, and no issues with the firm fairway bunkers. I had several greenside sand shots and while the quality of the sand was decent, I thought all could have used more sand.

Large poa greens were firm and medium speed. They looked great and held irons well. Hardly any ball marks because of the firmness. To me they looked quicker than they actually were.

Challenging layout up/down rolling hills with large, undulating green complexes and several holes that feature great elevation changes. Very fun course to play with lots of forced carries. More impressed with the layout on each visit. It is fun and challenging without being so punitive that it beats you up.

Drink cart out patrolling and there are only a few water stations on the course, with all closed due to COVID. The upgraded carts have Shark Experience GPS where you can measure to different landmarks. Would be a very challenging course to walk with all the hills. Nice all grass range and the customer service from all encountered was excellent. Definitely recommended.

Great course, great condition with the only drawback was the overseeding off fairways made for had to find balls even though you had a good view of where the ball landed. Always have enjoyed the course, staff and dinning.

Changes

Brand new carts are great. Also, rhey made a great change to the sequence of holes. The course now starts on the old hole 17, old 18 is #2, and the old #1 is 3. This makes you finish on the par 5, 16th hole wit the lake on the left. Definitely an improvement.

Just OK

A friend of mine booked a tee time for 3, a few days later another friend wanted to join and make it 4. Not sure why all 3 were $98 and the single was $108. For the money you are paying the course is in just ok shape. Greens were air raided a few weeks ago so very bumpy and very slow. Not to mention the pace of play was very slow, we were waiting on most tee boxes.

I would golf here again, earlier in the morning and definitely when the greens are normal.

Course

The course is in bad shape now. I made reservations for $133.00 10.40am tee time. I have prayed here serval times. The driving range is closed. The tee boxes are dark brown. The greens are not smooth. The are also in not good shape. The play took 5 hrs over booked. I have never seen this course like this. It was not worth the money for this condition. They need to get it back to the shape it was. It was sad.

Poor conditions

Conditions at this course were the worst i’ve seen in the 5 years i’ve played. Barren, bunker-like tee boxes to dry wilted fairways. Paying $90 per person was way too steep.

Great Course but Pricey

My first time playing at Oak Quarry and overall although I enjoyed the course, I thought for $170, it was quite pricey in terms of the course facilities and amenities. The greens and fairways were well maintained but tee boxes were quite questionable at some holes. Also, I was surprised to see there was no marhsall for a course of this caliber and price. I enjoyed the course overall but wouldn't pay the steep $170 price point for this course and location. Perhaps something more in the low $100 would better suit this course and location.
