this waa not the course i played before pandemic, the price is up and the condition is worse, the pace was awful and green is not even close to the practice green, i would not come back unless all of the above are addressed

Place lacks professionalism. Carts weren't clean, staff was a bit indifferent, poor bunker conditions on a number of holes, bumpy greens and, even with the hefty green fee, they get you for 10 more bucks on a warm up bucket.

It's like they know they don't even have to try. I like the layout, but not enough to go back.

Good course but way finding really need improved seriously. Our teams were totally confused at a few holes. Lake of signs. Also need to changes signs in some holes. Old signs which wete not updated after they rearrange hole number order.
Managers shuld be alerted.

Staff is very friendly. Course is beautiful, but starting to look a little shabby on the maintenance front. Pace of play is atrocious and this might be the last time I play this course.

The coarse layout has changed. Need to update the signage to reflect the holes. Very confusing

Of the 11 course I played on a visit to South California in February 2024, Oak Quarry was the most visually appealing course I played. I felt like every hole provided by a spectacular view and enjoyable challenge. They layout is amazing, as you play through the nooks and crannies of an old quarry. However, all that good is tempered by the fact that of all the course I played Oak Quarry had, by far, the worst greens of the trip.

CONDITIONS: The greens were horrible. There wasn’t 1 putt that rolled smooth or true. Everything was bumpy, and by the 4th or 5th hole me and the guys I was paired with agreed that putting was going to be all about luck (I felt like playing “Plinko” the old Price is Right game). It could also be said that the bunkers are not very good, but they are clearly being worked on. Some bunkers have the black mats indicating new sand is coming, and some did have brand new sand in them. Hopefully when you play there all that work is done and the bunkers are perfect. Tees and fairways were fine.

VALUE: As a general principle, if your greens fee is $100+ and doesn’t include at least a small bucket of range balls, I don’t consider that a good value. The course is well laid out and fun to play, and the views are incredible. But given the quality of the greens and amenities included with the greens fee I think full fare is too high right now.

LAYOUT: Incredible. Spectacular. Might be the best 3 hole opening stretch I’ve every played. Fun short holes. Challenging long holes. Beautiful, yet very challenging par 3s. The par 5s keep your attention but don’t overwhelm. This layout is so much fun to play. No walking here, though. You’ll need that cart for this one.

FRIENDLINESS: The pro shop got me checked in and out on the course. The starter was great. He was able to sneak me (a single) in a few tee times ahead of where I was scheduled. Thank you!

PACE: Erratic, but fine. Pulled up to a few holes to see a group pulling away from the tee box, while the next group was waiting on the tee box. We also pulled up to a few holes seeing the group ahead of us putting out on the green. Finished in just over 4 hours.

DIFFICULTY: Good shots are rewarded. Ok shots are penalized, but not fatal. Poor shots can be spectacularly lost over a quarry cliff.

With improved greens this course is absolutely 5-stars!

The course was way overbooked. It took almost 5 hours to play 10 holes. The greens are an extremely poor condition, and you could not hit a straight putt. The course itself obviously is absolutely beautiful. It was a shame that the greens were not well-maintained.

Well layed out course and very picturesque. Shot selection was premium. Never a level spot on the course or greens. Greens were shaggy, bumpy and of variable speeds. This needs to be corrected.

Starting playing over 10 years ago. Great course back in the day. Greens, fairways and bunkers bad shape. Not sure if I’m coming back. Over priced for what we paid. No cart girl. Only 1 person in dining area. No service. No ranger keeping pace of play up.

Utterly disappointed! I’ve played this track for many years and I have not ever seen it in this poor of a condition! Greens were horrible! Bumpy, fuzzy, and slow. I laugh because when checking in, the pro shop guys were telling me it’s in real great condition. I guess I didn’t get the sarcasm. Some of the green side bunkers weren’t even bunkers as well! You were better off hitting it in penalty areas vs the bunkers tbh. Little to no sand and vegetation growing inside. Pace of play was horrible as well! No marshals around to keep people on a timely manner. Fairways were decent but for $140+ during a weekday round, I’d expect a lot more! C’mon Oak Quarry, pull it together! Bring it back to its former glory! Highly not recommended at this given time for its current condition and price.
