course is in good shape not much trouble to get in water on few holes but not bad if you place your shot.
Two thumbs up
The course is in nice shape, you can tell the owners are investing in the course, new 2023 golf carts, upgrading the bunkers with new sand (ongoing) widened some fairways for better play. Overall nice course.
Monday adventure.
Course was packed. Very slow play. Had to wait for our cart to come in and it barely made it around the course. Almost didn't make it up a couple of hills. Fairway and greens were quite shaggy. Front nine were just a lot of tricked up holes and long par 3's ( all over 200 yards). Back nine a much more playable 9.
One of the best courses for the money
Nice course soft greens to land but fast to roll course layout is average and carts are getting pretty old. All in all you can’t beat the price for the quality
Wicker Hills - First time
Course was in good condition though quite wet for an afternoon round of golf. Appears the course is on a lot of peat ground. Soft and wet.
Cart fleet is quite old though in operable condition.
First time playing so no local knowledge.
Would play again if in the area.
Pleasantly Surprised
The cut of the course was well done. Fewer lost balls than usual Will go back soon. Good play for the money.
Improving
I have played Wicker Hills a number of times over the years. I think the new owners are really trying to upgrade the condition of the course. The greens were all healthy and receptive. The fairways were healthy and thick. I didn’t see any problem areas anywhere. It’s very user friendly for an average golfer. I think it’s worth a try for a budget/country type course.
Disappointed
The course is not well taken care of, there is also five players playing at one time and also people hitting up on you multiple times which totally takes you out of your game and lack of concentration. Would not recommend for the avid golfer who wants to just go out and play a nice and enjoyable 18 holes of golf !
Very bad
Worst course I’ve ever played maybe worst in Michigan definitely top 5 worst

Fun and Friendly
Great Value. Best for the beginner intermediate golfer. Fairways grass was a bit long, but to be fair it had rained the previous couple of days.

Front 9 is really challenging but I expected that when I saw the scorecard

two very different nines
The Wicker Hills course in Hale , Mi. is made up of two different nines. The first few holes on the front play like a links course where it is pretty wide open with many small ponds and long weeded rough. The other nine is more of a traditional parkland setting with many greens protected by shallow bunkers. The greens were in pretty good shape and ran very true but were more on the slow side. It was a true bargain for what I paid through golf now ( $11.00 for 18 holes with a cart).
Thank you very much for your feedback. We are always working to improve the conditions of our course to make it more enjoyable around and hope you will visit us again soon!
