wonderful
this is what golf should be
beautiful course, played 18 holes in less than 3 hours
Great Course
Loved the course & condition. Great time. Challenging holes with some water.
Gull Lake East - Uphill All the Way
Beautiful terrain winding through the woods. Don't let the yardage on the card fool you into thinking this is a breeze; it's not. Most of the holes are uphill and most of the greens are elevated and well protected with bunkers...Fast greens especially downhill. Better be putting uphill. Nice touch is that they have the yardage posted on the tees to the edge of any water hazards in front of you.
Thanks for the great review! We look forward to your return to better your score!
Fun
Gull Lake East is a better course then the west. The holes are more interesting and the conditions are slightly better. The East is not a long course even from the tips but the topograghy makes the holes play longer. My wife also enjoys playing there, however some of the ladies tees are sort of down in valleys requiring an uphill tee shot. Overall, we very much enjoyed playing This course as it is in a beautiful area and it is always very well-maintained.
PS. If you enjoy walking, this course is probably not for you. It has some very steep hills.
Awesome! We love hearing about your experience at Gull Lake View! Please come back and play again!
This course is extremly beautifull and challenging
This was my second time playing your course in 2 weeks because it was a fantastic challenge to my skills. The greens were well kept and fairways awesome to play on. I play as a single most times and hook up with others and the people they hooked me up with were very proffesional, courtious and just fun to be with. They were members and helped guide me through my first round there a week previous. The last group was equally as kind to me. I will play this course again and again when I"m able and look foreward to comming back!
Sincerely Greg Lawcock

Best course ever played for the money
I have been playing golf for 30 years and have played many top rated courses but for the price and course conditions this topped them all. Excellent fairways, well kept greens and beautifully tree lined. I was in town for a weekend getaway and my wife and I always try to play someplace different. She is new to golf and played the entire round with the same ball!! Bonus. Can't wait to come back and play again. Bring bug spray as the Mosquitos can get pretty bad on a couple water holes. Excellent value for the money, A plus experience. Great job to the course super intendant.

Get a Cart Girl
Course isn't overly challenging, but still solid value using GolfNow app. Only issue was there was no cart girl out on the course. The weather was very hot/humid, not sure how any course passes up additional revenue opportunities by not having cart girl out on the course all day.
Hi hut3dg,
Thanks for your review. It can be concerning when there is no cart girl when you expect there to be one. We will look into the situation to make sure that something like this doesn't happen in the future. If you have any more comments or concerns, please email us directly at gulllakeviewgolfclub@gmail.com

1 of 5 fine courses.
Gull Lake has 5 18 hole courses with a 6th opening next year. This is a wonderful location tucked away in the country. It feels like a Private Country Club but its not. Great clubhouse, lounge and restaurant. Practice range was far above average plus they have 3 large putting greens by the clubhouse. Over all the course was in great condition with the only drawbacks being the large amount of Goose droppings around the ponds and greens. Carry a spare towel to keep your golf ball clean. Plus the ponds were filled with scum type weeds that just gave them a swampy look and smell. Overall though the course was a pleasure to play and I look forward to playing the other 4 courses this year. Next one is Stone Hedge North.

Nice course and friendly staff
One of the nicest courses I've played this year. Pace of play was average. We waited on many holes, but it wasn't bad once a slow four-some let us play through and then we teamed up with a single player. The back nine was definitely more challenging with tight fairways and a lot of water. The greens looked fast, but ran slow. Very nice course.

Could have been great
The course was perfect and it started great, but than we caught up to the walkers. Waiting at every hole is no fun. The started would not let us grab a lunch at the turn claiming that there were too many others about to hit the back nine. We saw no one else behind us all afternoon.

Short but beautiful
Short but beautiful with many doglegs, lots of elevation change and blind shots. Greens very difficult to read. Slow pace on front nine, but rangers are attentive and pace picked up on back.

Scott Courses are the best
GLV East is a gorgeous course with beautiful views, plush fairways, perfect greens and playable for all skill levels. It is our favorite of the Scott Courses. The staff is wonderful, the food is more than exceptional. Great stay and play packages too, with rooms on the 18th fairway and green. Incredible value. The 5 Scott courses we play are always in "PGA Shape" and are in a small group of the finest Golf Courses anywhere.

Great price at a Favorite course.
Always enjoy playing the East course. This time was particularly good due to the great GolfNow value; believe it was ~ $22. Course condition was better than that of my golf game, but still had a great time w/some friends. Beautiful course & facility. Enjoyed it!
Best value "a round"
Played with 3 others on Sunday 4/12/15 at 10:30. Being they only opened a couple weeks prior the course was in good condition and the staff there is second to none. Always friendly. One reason we play multiple times at the Gull Lake courses (Gull Lake View East and West as well as Stonhedge North and South)
Nice course, nice people
Everyone at the course was friendly and accommodating. In addition, the course was in great shape and was fun to play. I wasn't much of a fan of the back nine, as there were a bunch of really short par 4s that seemed to be kind of wedged in.
But for the price, I would definitely play here again! It's a part of a nice number of courses in the Gull Lake area that are worth playing.
First time player here. (east)
We played at 9:18 and played behind a very slow foursome. The sad part was if they didn't like their tee shot they would tee off again. spent way to much time looking for lost balls in woods, water and next fairway over. We also had very bad beverage cart service. She served us at the eighth hole and we never saw her again the rest of our eighteen.I do have to say that our server in the clubhouse was very good.
Tight with Stagnant Water
I played the East course for the first time with a foursome this past Sunday. The elevation changes were nice, but I have never seen more stagnant water on any course in Michigan. I was also surprised how tight one hole is to the next...you almost always see players on as many as three holes while you are playing. Another surprise was the shortness of the course. You really only need to use your driver a couple times the entire 18 holes, but you better be able to hit spots and landing areas with your irons!
Would play course again
Course was in good shape, it's fairly open, but narrows on the back and water comes into play. there are lots of raised tees and greens. the club house was nice with a big restaurant and pro shop.
No bag or cart person, and pace of play was slow, waiting on most every hole.
Hills up and down, side slopes to test all skills.
Be sure to play the golf tees for your skill level. The golf course will reward you.
Thanks for coming out to play and review us! We love hearing about your round! Come back anytime!
