Hidden GEM
IN an local with many excellent golf courses, this is a hidden. Be sure to put this one on the top of your list of courses to play!
Fast and smooth the greens were!
The Golf holes were memorable. Lots of character.
I could play that course every day.
Great Deal
Played near end of September and hardly anyone on course. Greens were great and fast as most reviews state. Fairways were good and the rest of the course was a little rough around the edges due to I would guess financial difficulties as most courses are experiencing especially Country Clubs. Well worth the $22.00 ! Would definitely recommend to play.
Hastings Country Club
Staff was friendly and courteous. Course was in great condition. Greens were challenging and super fast. I would recommend it for the price!
Great course for the price
Golf now Hot Special for $13? Are you kidding me? What a deal! Great condition, fast greens, and very friendly! And don't let the first two holes fool ya. This course is not a pushover! Enjoy!
Great Greens
Fast greens and elevation changes made it a challenging and enjoyable round.
good value
Fast greens, some interesting holes and challenging shots.
Always enjoy playing the course
Over booked.
Tournament or league on the front nine. Junior league on the back nine at the turn. Only played 7 holes, just couldn't wait around.
A bit challenging but fun!
Course in great condition! Definitely not a boring course, every hole finds a new challenge. Staff very friendly. Will definitely recommend and play again!
Beautiful Course, Friendly, Helpful Staff
Course is very well maintained. 1920 & 1950 era nines both with relatively small but challenging greens. For 20+ handicap men, I recommend the forward tees. Most ladies will play those same, White, tees. (White, because you know most guys have a block when it comes to playing a Red tee.)
Pace of play was quite perfect Thursday around noon start.
Drove 35 minutes .... worth it !!
I've said it before and I'll say it again... LOVE older country club layouts. Blind shots and small greens...no previous course knowledge will hurt you, but its much funner the second and third time around. Can be "un-fair" to first timers, but thats what should bring you back. My score score gets better everytime. It sounds like I own the place, but I dont. I dont work there either, but I do really like this course.
I love old country club courses !!
Its everything you want in an old country club course. Tons of elevation change, small greens, difficult par 3's and walkable. It's been pretty full every time I've played and if you don't have GPS.... good luck. Blind shots and tricky lay up galore. Great little track. Dont let first two holes fool you.
User friendly
Very well kept. I used every club in the bag. A lot of very different kind of holes. Every thing from flat to hilly. Greens were fun & challenging. I really liked the course.
Nice little old school course...
Never played this before. Very nice and undulating course with may elevation changes. Greens were fast and in good shape.
Great value
Unique old style course, challenging but fair. Well maintained. Lots of character, some hit it and get it and some strategic holes. Did not like having to play with another twosome. They were very nice but we prefer to play by ourselves. Think we should have the choice.
Greens are well maintained but too small
Wouldn't pay full price to play this course, fairways kept too long and no bounce or roll to them and very unfriendly to new players hole descriptions very vague. The layout of the pro shop and restaurant banquet center is a confusing mess and it feels very unsafe to park your cars or the ridiculously sloped parking lot and super close relation to the holes.
This course is ok.
The course is in good shape. My problem with with Hastings is the old layout that is typical of the old Michigan courses. No real thought process when laying out the course. It is a challenge just trying to find the next tee box.Bring lots of insect repellent because you will need it.
Course has a very funky layout... too many blind shots
Never played this course, so thought I'd give it a change based on the price via GolfNow. Owner checked us in and was less than friendly (so off to a bad start before we even got to the first tee). First 2 holes were long but very vanilla. The 3rd hole had a really funky layout with a blind shot to the green.
Course was in pretty nice shape and lots of beatutiful views, but had a really wierd layout with MANY blind shots. I counted 5 "bells" on the course where you had to ring so the group behind you knew it was OK to hit their shots. Very surprised that this was once a Country Club. I'm sure new ownership is utilizing feedback to make improvements in the year's to come. Not likely that my wife & I would come back to this course (much better courses in our area with less drive time).
