Example: This course has great features
The time to spray for dollar spot is before you see it forming on the greens.
Couple chops stole my ball on the dogleg par 5 6th.
Exactly what you would expect for $23.
Nice Layout and large Green but
Nice Layout but course must be finically stressed that is the only thing that can explain why so much dollar spot and fungus patches on green.
Wanted to Play
I booked for 7-28-17 at 10:44a , but unfortunately the night before I had a sciatic nerve issue , I could not walk without a lot of pain , could not make it to the course. Called the course to see if I could play another time they had me call golfnow , golfnow would not credit me . So how it goes.
Would play there again
Was a pretty good experience overall. The course could use some work with the details; traps, trimming, tee boxes, etc... but $20 for 18 w/cart is tough to beat.
Good Practice Course
The Pace of play was slow. You had to keep your ball in the fairway, you couldn't find your ball because the grass was so long, they should of closed this course the 1st of October.
Shaggy rough but great price
Course was in great condition except the rough. If you hit your ball out of the fairway you could spend 15 minutes circling around trying to find your ball. Multiple occasions my partner and myself couldn't see our ball 5 feet away because it was completely covered in the rough.. maybe it was just close to the end of the season and they relax on mowing the rough.
Always in great shape and good people behind the scenes
Heather Highlands is always in great shape and the greens are huge and roll fast and true. This course has been consistently rated among the best and the super and the owners have been there for as long as we've been playing there. Guessing they have been doing this for 40 years or more. One of our favorite places to play. Always fun and the rates online are the best in town. Highly recommend.
The Best for the money.
Played this Saturday and just beat the rain. An outing followed us and the staff was well prepared for any weather as many golfers were inside watching golf while they waited. Deb and her staff are pros. Love the place.
Mieading
The fact that this course is in the top 25 rankings and shepherds hallow isn't it, is a audacity. The fact that they charge 42 dollars for 18 holes, and the greens are bummpy, super soft, don't roll true, and haven't been moon in at least 2 days, is absurd. Most of the fairways and tees haven't been moon in quite some time it looks like. If they don't have the money or the staff to properly maintain the course, don't change a top course price. And the rough is so long if you hit your ball into it, you can't find it. This is all my opinion. They have some great holes, it's just the maintenance on the course is really lacking.
Tee boxes
If you play from the whites or Blues this course may suit you. If you play from the "tips" or black tees it will frustrate you since they haven't pruned a tree in years here, leaving long hitters with very tight landing areas (after you get through some trees). As for ladies tees - hap-hazardly place out in the fairway. Most of the time the tee box was just in the fairway with no grass cut or sloping or just in terrible shape. Thanks but no thanks. I think if you want to keep golf growing and people playing you need to keep your course worth the price. For women this was a joke. Finally - greens were shaggy. Its August not October. Don't give up the greens yet!!! Sorry cant recommend. Spend your cash elsewhere.
Good course for the value
I'm a beginner through and through so any course can be challenging to me. But this course definitely had some room for comfort on a lot of holes. Layout was fun and different each hole. The greens seemed to be bumpy at times and hard to read.
Overall, good course that is worth playing
Love Heather Highlands!
I played 9 holes here maybe 35 years ago and couldn't remember anything about the course. It was fun to play this course. Wide open in parts but still has challenges. I love the fact that it is so quiet out here in Holly. The greens are huge so you better put the ball close or you will have some 3-putts. I can't wait to go back. Our group really enjoyed Heather Hills GC.
good day
Another good day of golf.
I like that the white tees are 5800 yards.
Great course
This is an excellent course. This was my second time playing the course and I was able to knock 9 stroke off of my score. The greens are very challenging you have to stay below most of them to give yourself your best option. Love the course and will definitely be coming back. Great rates available with golf now.
Good value. Nice staff
Heather highlands always has a very friendly staff. The course was in good condition. Greens were a little bumpy. For the value I will definitely play again
slow play
Put us inbetween 2 foursomes no one let us play through we were a twosome 5 hours and 15 minutes for 18 holes. Ranger even came out and no help.
White tee fun
First time we played the course in over 10 years but truely enjoyed the round. Fairways and greens were in pretty good condition. Course overall was in good shape. Definitely would play again and sooner than 10 years.
Easy to get to and a great value
Played the "big" course with my son and the conditions were mid season. The greens are huge and the course plays LONG. We played in windy conditions. Usually we walk the PC but we scored a great rate on their website so we decided to ride. It was great fun, even though we scored a lot higher than we thought.

Please feel free to stop in and identify yourself next time you are out and introduce yourself to Deb and the staff. Thanks again.
