Inkster Valley Golf Club

The selfish side of me didn't want to post this review because I want this course to remain a hidden gem. However, I took some word-of-mouth advice to make the trip to the course and play and it exceeded all of my expectations.

Admittedly, you are driving through a rougher neighborhood than most but once you pull into the course it is like you quantam leap.

From start to finish I was very impressed with the conditions of the course. The rough is on the think end and had just been cut so there were clumps of grass throughout, which required a few foot wedges.

For the amount of play I imagine the course gets, I was impressed with the conditions of the greens. Most courses are littered with ball marks but there were only a couple greens that had 3+ ball marks to be repaired - the greens were very true and fair.

It was great value for the round and is one of my new favorite courses in Detroit.

The only opportunities to make this course a 100/100 is to get better sand/rake the bunkers - we picked up out of the sand because it was either filled with water or very hard.

Also, I would love to see a few more options for beer. The selection was relatively basic. It would be great to get some Two Hearted and/or a few micro brews.

Inkster Valley has a lot of potential. Needs a lot of maintenance. It has a few blind spots off the tee course knowledge is key to playing well here. P. S bring bug spray.

With a Money to invest could be a real nice track.greens were in great shape, fairways were a little rough, sand traps were not even playable. Not overly long but narrow and challenging. Had some hard holes some fairly easy all in all an enjoyable round. Will play there again!

Course is hard to play. Bring lots of balls. No sand play since they don't maintain. Staff is friendly and helpful

Good course - just needs some TLC just wish others would respect what we have here. Lots of twisted spike spots on the greens as well as un-repaired divots. Some of the tee boxes are in need of some TLC, as well as the bunkers on some of the holes (rocks), but overall I find this course challenging. The out of bounds areas are exactly that! Need to do some work on golf carts. This is 2nd time I have placed this course this season and both times needed to change carts at turn because cart was running out of power

Course is challenging from the tips. The bunkers were in poor condition with little sand. The greens were long, slow and not in good condition. Much potential as a course but needs more TLC.

The course has been kept in very good shape despite not much rainfall. I enjoyed the variety of holes mixing easy holes with harder ones and nice layout.

Disappointed in the course conditions; I have played this course in past years and it was in better shape.

There must have been beehives in the ground on several holes. They were swarming. We played the front 9. The golf cart was the worst we ever rented.

Round took over 6 hours need better course management

Early morning round was quick and uninhibited. Weather was relatively cool.

Our group decided to play this course for the first time. It's a disaster. Whoever thought this was a good design doesn't understand golf. You can't see where you are going . Blind shots galore. The low maintenance jungle lining the fairways may save money but you will lose a ton of golf balls. This was the least enjoyable golf experience we have had since playing The Myth.

A fair test. Narrow enough to keep you on your toes. Not too much sand. Greens are in nice shape, and fair without being punishing. I would like to see some of hazards cut down. They are forced carry which is manageable but not able to judge distance. I was force to go back and retee a couple of times, thinking I'd hit a decent shot. - Other than that, I'll be back.

Course is in good condition. Had areas where course was over watered. Tee boxes could use some improvement.

The course is priced right . A little more effort on the condition would help this course out greatly . Mostly the greens & rough could use TLC . Beautiful landscape and a overall joy to play . The older course ranger is a jerk who looks for a reason to correct you .

First time playing this course. The front 9 was a little back and forth dog legs galore. The back 9 was a lot more enjoyable. The sand traps need better sand it reminded me of a parking lot with gravel.

Overall a fun experience, pace of play was a little to slow for a Friday morning.

2 of us had played Inkster before, and warned the other 2 of its difficulty. The round was slow and frustrating, as we spent a lot of time ball hunting. I would not recommend Inkster for average golfers.

Great course overall as long as you're not walking because some of the distances between holes can get lengthy. The pace of play was awful with 18 holes taking us 5+ hours and no rangers were out there trying to keep people moving on a Saturday. But the course is very nice and I will definitely play here again.

The conditions on the course were less than ideal...overgrown rough which made finding balls very challenging, poor green maintenance--course has clearly gone out of repair. Perhaps the biggest issue was the layout- this is target golf at its worst. If you like hitting drivers off the tee, stay at home. Brutal 90 degree doglegs, blind tee shots, and forced carries.

It is early in the year so the dandelions abounded and the greens were inconsistent, but overall it is still a tough track with a few short and gimmicky holes(see number 9). Holes 14, 15 and 16 more than make up for it though. It was a fun experience. At $21.00 with a cart, it was more than a great value this time of year.
