Great Layout Bad Conditions
I played here a lot 15-20 years ago and it was one of my favorite places to play. Hands down one of the toughest back nines you would ever play. Now it it is run down, cups cut on angles, fairways full of weeds, sand traps full of rocks and dirt…and then the back nine was in even worse shape. Dying trees made (IMO) 11 & 16 much easier, dead grass patches in the fairways. Really sad to see such a gem fall to waste.
All those bad things and I would still recommend it due to the fast undulating greens, pace of play, and the layout is still fun, and the price is appropriate.

Rude
Was overcharged. Guy inn the pro shop was rude about it, interested in 'proving' he is right, rather than resolve the issue.
Front 9 is great! Slow, but very nice course. Back 9 is not well looked after

Overcharged by Rude Employee
195.48 charged for the 4 of us, when only 186 was due (after I had paid a $20 deposit).
Guy was rude, no attempt at being customer friendly, only trying to prove ‘I am right’ when politely inquiring as to the cost.
Front 9 was a joy to play. Unfortunately the back 9 has a few holes which are not well looked after. Some of the greens are in bad shape to the point where you cannot putt on them.

First Time Golfing in Michigan
The course was very lovely especially the back 9. Holes 10 & 11 ran along the Grand River (and water to the left too) with spectacular views and one of the hardest holes on the course. It just kept getting better as you played on. Hole 13 par 3 was just amazing and fun over the water. The only let downs of the course were no water stations set up anywhere on the course and lots of goose poop and for that matter Geese on the course. I don’t blame them with a 26 acre lake. I highly recommend playing this course. GVD
Wallinwood Springs Golf
We had a 2:12 tee time and were checked in quickly by friendly staff. We purchased our beverages and they were put into coolers with ice and off we went. Course seems to be in good condition, fairways, tee boxes and greens are nice. The pace of play was very good and the beverage cart lady was around often and friendly. Only drawback is around the ponds you will find some remnants to remind you that the geese have not flown away yet. Good time and good price.
Nice course
Very nice golf course but only got 9 holes in because it started to rain. Will definitely be going back!
Average round of golf
The course itself is decent. Not the best maintained, but not the worst. For $25/9-holes I guess that’s all we can expect. The layout is nice. Challenging, but not over the novice player’s head. The back nine is particularly nice and feels better maintained. The complaints I have is a history of rude staff. They just seemed annoyed by our group despite following proper etiquette and our friendly and respectful personalities. The other issue we had was a league behind us sent a representative up to move us along and encourage us to pick up the pace despite being 10 mins ahead of the pace. If we wanted to play a rush round, we would have gone mini-golfing. True pace of play at any reputable course is slower than we were going as a foursome. It’s really disruptive and distracting having to rush every shot for some entitled beer league.
