a real gem between Flushing and Saginaw
Had a blast visiting Briar Ridge today - the GM, George, was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and made me feel welcome as a first time visitor. The unassuming clubhouse is surprising well appointed, as was the pro shop/check-in area. I didn't get a chance to sample any food this time, but will on my next visit to rate my favorite dine and compare items (cheeseburger + fries!) The course really struck me as being in remarkable shape for it being opening week, and the near invisible and courteous grounds crews were out in full force keeping the boxes, fairways, and greens in the best shape as possible. The track plays somewhere between easy to moderate challenge, which for me, early in the season, was a relief as I golfed pretty good today. You can never complain too much when your drives are mostly in the middle and your irons are clicking! Overall, I had a really fun time and enjoyed the round very much - I will be returning near mid season to see how nice things can improve over the early season, but very acceptable, conditions.

Worst Course I every played - Walked off so bad
This was absolutely, the worst course I have ever played. We walked off after hole 6 as this was extremely unplayable. Clover leaves everywhere, greens were awful. Even though just aerated, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Rocks on greens and sand everywhere. Greens are mounded on most holes, so totally unplayable. Layout is very funky including have to drive down service roads to get to fairway. As for that, no way you could tell the difference in fairway vs. rough. This basically sums it up: There is also a disc golf course on this piece of garbage. I drove out here, because I like to check out new courses and got a good deal on Golf Now. What a mistake! The backside was being aerated, so we were supposed to play the front twice. We did not want to do that at all! I've been playing golf for 41 years and I have never seen something like this and have never walked off a course before. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Out there
Course was well cared for. It was difficult with disc golfers playing alongside golfers. Not sure who was playing where. Course could use some updates like a paved parking lot and the cart paths need to be grated. It was fairly challenging and in good shape. Hole 18 is a joke - 2 par 3's made into an odd par 5. If it was not so far off the beaten path I'd play it again.
Friendly staff and all around nice course. Love the clubhouse house dog she is soooo cute.
Good time
Great value every time. Course was in real good shape and a low degree of difficulty. Staff is nice and best beer prices at a golf course in the area.
Good course for the money.
Nothing bad to say about it. The greens were good. The designs of the greens were awesome. Some fun short par 4’s with a chance to drive the green. Two pitch shot par 3’s, one was 95 and the other was a 130 yard pitch shot.
Best round of the season.
Played 18 by myself and had the lowest score of the season. Everything was perfect.
Rough but tough
The course is very”natural “. Tee boxes were pretty beat up and some of the fairways were sparse. That being said it still was a tough course that demanded some pretty accurate tee shots. Greens were small and undulating and rolled good.
Well, ummmm....this is the review site for Pine Hills, soooooo....
