Played on the wrong day
Three days of torrential rain left course in soggy, wet condition.
Greens were still nice and drained well. Fairways were pretty mushy, course is fairly flat so drainage was a problem.
Staff is friendly and clubhouse is spacious.
Great Outing!
Golfed in an outing. Staff was very professional. Very organized. The course was in very nice shape. The greens were running good. The food was some of the best I've had at an outing.
this course was long, rain most of the day
plays very long when wet, no roll for extra distance
Deer Run on a Saturday
I feel they may be under staffing the course...the pro shop where you check in was empty, and 4-5 people were lined up at the bar getting drinks. After a wait, I came back and the person at the bar called me over to check in. Also, so fairways looked like rough on other holes. Finally, there was no starter and I had a 5 to10 min. wait on each tee box.
Play it again
this course was an extremely entertaining one to play, and it is quite long as so you get your times worth while out there. some holes can be challenging on the back 9 but as a beginner I may be impartial. I would definitely play it again
Deer Run
I liked the structure of the course, the conditions were ok
Deer Run
It was longer than any course that I've played so far this summer. It was nice and challenging in that sense. A little buggy in the wooded part but that's to be expected anywhere with some woods.
The course is a good value
course structure up was good, conditions not amazing
Deer run- Great course
I like the course a lot. They keep it well maintained and its a nice pace of play.
Extremely Underrated
This was my first time playing this course and I have to say, what a nice course. When You pay $10 for an 18 w/Cart you aren't expecting a well maintained course, With friendly staff, and nearly 7000 ft of course. But this course, Not the case! I was really impressed with the back nine, very challenging span of 3 holes and ends with a 602 yard par 5. If you have never been I recommend you at least try it.
Use every club in the bag
Greeted by, Bosco, mans best friend outside the clubhouse, awesome start to the experience. The greens rolled great, forced to use every club in the bag.
Great value for the money!
Between the friendly staff and the challenging course, we'll be back!
Beautiful course!
Open, long, clean fairways, it's a beautiful course with challenging greens. Loved this course and will definitely be teeing off again soon
Wonderful experience
This course is very well maintained and a great play! Very easy to navigate and the views is wonderful. That staff is very friendly and helpful with a great attitude! I will definitely be back
Great, looong course!
This course was a lot of fun and in great condition. There was no waiting and no one behind me either, so pace of play was perfect. Several long holes really gave me a chance to work out the 19* hybrid! Fun, fun, fun.
Course was in great condition
Upon first arriving there was no one in the pro shop but then soon realized there was an outing that they were setting up for. The staff apologized and quickly got us out to the first tee. The pace of play was outstanding. Both nines took 1.5 hrs each. The entire course was in great condition. No dry/dead spots, no puddles, and greens were in great shape.
Overall a great first time experience at deer run! Would come back and recommend to others.
Bring some balls and brig spray.
This is a very nice course with wonderful staff.
When we went it had just rained pretty heavy the night before as well as this area has received alot of rain recently. Basically conditions were tough because of the ground being so saturated and the mosquitos were out like crazy due to all of the standing water. The rough is pretty tall so if your swing is lacking accuracy like mine then I would bring plenty of extra balls.
I will come back again but will wait to let it dry out a touch more. This is a nice challenging course and appears to be kept up nice even with all of the water. I can't really blame the course for mother nature.
All in all I would play this
Nice track
We played Deer Run with a Golf Now promotion and we were extremely pleased. The track is challenging yet playable. The par 4 holes seemed long but reachable. The greens rolled true. Course conditions overall good with some inconsistency with the sand traps (but we did have recent rain). Would play again. A note on traffic if you are coming from Lansing: Get off at M 50 and come in from the west as Cascade Road is closed east of the course.
great rural course
the course has been in very nice shape the past few times I've played there. staff is always great, it's an overall relaxed environment, and simply a great place to play! you can get stuck behind some slower beginner groups, that coupled with the length and rough can make for a long outing. the flip side, however, is that it's a nice place to take your slower, less experienced playing partners, or a good call for a leisurely round.
Friendly Staff and Well Maintained
I had a great time here. The staff let me get out in front of an outing on a Saturday morning. I played quick and the course was in great condition. I'll for sure be coming back.
