I got a great deal!
The course is long and somewhat challenging> Very windy made it much more difficult! Course was in great shape and staff was very nice and accommodating. Received a nice little appreciation gift to boot!
Good Day of Golf
Enjoyed playing Deer Run. Course is in good condition and pace of play was good. Construction in the area did not close access to course.
well maintained
The course was in great shape. Greens had had good speed and the fairways was great.
Course is alright.
I've played at this course several times. Although I'm a beginner, I play quite often. Most of the greens are well kept, but with all the debris falling off the trees, it was obvious it wasn't cleaned at all. I had to remove sticks and leaves and other objects to make my line. Every time I've been to this course, I have been by myself or with a partner. I someone always reach a 4some by the 3r d or 4th green at least, and they won't let me or my partner and I play through. Instead of finishing within 3-4 hours, it takes 5. The overall people this course brings is terrible golf standards. Playing at quail ridge, Tyler creek, Saskatoon, and other courses around here I've always passed 2-3 groups ahead, most of the time without even asking. They just pause and let us play through. I've only played through once at deer run. The GPS on the browser doesn't even work when I tried it. If you have a group of 4, it should be a fun time. If you are looking for a quick round of golf, expect to wait behind people and have it not be quick.
Challenging for shorter hitters
Course was in good shape although greens were a little slow. Staff was friendly and we're giving out coupons for reduced rate golf due to the road construction which definitely is keeping business slow. Finished 18 holes in 2 1/2 hours. Course was in better shape than the past.
disappointed
the rough is so thick,.you loose the ball even three inch's off the fareway,.the rough averaged three inch's,. every time I have been there,.they have sprinklers going,.happens every year,.they are allway's working on them,. great place for a cheap round,.bring x tra ball's,.. bugs are allways thick as well,. not worth the drive for me any longer,. we seen two groups of six player's no ranger,. wasn't impressed and I play this every year,. not any more!
A nice lazy round of golf
We played the front 9 on a Sunday afternoon as a twosome. Played through a few slower groups so pace of play was great. We enjoyed our time on the course, both agreed it wasn't the most memorable 9 holes we've ever played but a good test. Greens were in good shape, dandelions were on their last leg of life so in another week conditions will greatly improve. Staff told us rough was high due to wet conditions but I thought it was a good length, didn't lose 1 ball because of long rough and that is usually my test if it's too long.
The golf course's website had GPS on it and I used it several times while playing from other fairways. Loaded quickly and gave me a good idea of yardage so I didn't have to look for cart path markers. Excellent addition to their mobile site.
difficult to find ball
too many weeds (dandelions) everywhere even in the fairway. they were just cut lower. White fluff everywhere which made it very hard to find a ball just off the fairway
The bunkers did not have any sand but they had a lot of weeds
Average
It's full golf season and they are way behind with the upkeep. It has potential but not sure if they get much business.
Deer Run
This was a nice course years ago. The course was in terrible shape not due any weather conditions but by neglect. It appears that the owners do not plan on spending any money on fertilizer, seed, weed control, drainage, or mowing of fairways. The driving range is an embarrassment. The owners should consider selling to someone who will bring it back to its better days
Deer Run
Better eat your wheaties before playing this course, it's long! Which can be good for the player who needs improvement on those long approach shots. Course condition was a little below average, but staff was working diligently (with chainsaws) to clean up the place. Yardage markers were non-existence which added to the difficulty of the long holes. Very secluded location of the course, looking forward to playing it again once the weather improves.
Unkempt
This course has a quality layout, the problem is the ownership does little to maintain it. From tees to fairways to greens nothing is kept up. It used to a favorite place to play but now is only a go to for something different. You can expect anything as there is no monitoring of groups, pace of play or course conditions. To bad it because it could really be a nice track
Excellent value for the money!
This course is very challenging for any player. They have 4 sets of tees for any age or skill level. Beautiful lay out. Will definitely play again!
Course is long and can be a bit challenging
I thought the course was in great shape this year. As always it's a long course even for long hitters. But I alway get to use all my clubs. ;)
very nice course
played a foursome, very nice course and graeat weather
we had the course to ourselves. awesome!
We play this course several times a year and this round was perfect except for the weather. cloudy. the fairways were in good condition, the greens were excellent and as always the people were very helpful.
decent course for the money
this is a decent course for the money and I would have rated it higher except they decided to turn the sprinklers on at 6 o'clock on a Saturday night. we were on hole 10 and had to finish the last 8 holes dodging sprinklers.
nice course
Had very slow play that day. 5 1/2 hrs to play 18. Players ahead of us would look for balls for 7 minutes each and everytime. My experience for game speed was bad, however, the course is nice.
The course was challenging. nice and long.
The staff was friendly and courteous.the course is in very good shape what a fun time we had. We will definitely be going back
Looking Good!
This course has struggled the last couple of years. It has started to see major improvements. The greens are looking and running great. Played the other day, and it was very pleasant. Everything is looking groomed and well maintained. I read the previous reviews. You all should give it another try. The staff was very friendly!
