Fathers Day
Course was backed up 20-30 minutes . Ran out of carts and had to wait 15-20 minutes for carts which weren’t cleaned or emptied between use. No rangers enforcing pace of play. Took almost 5 hours for a round. Course was extra busy because of Fathers Day but they seemed completely unprepared for it. I hope the problems were because of the holiday because course layout and conditions are good and challenging.
A good time
Nice course, easy on the budget. Can be very long from the back tees.
Huron Meadows
Employees very friendly. Course in good shape. Hot Deal on GolfNow made it a good value, under $35 per person with cart for 18.
We normally don't golf at noon on weekends, and the pace of play was crazy slow for groups in carts on a straightforward course. 5 hours, 20 minutes. Saw ranger who apologized.
It was a very hot day, and the beverage cart employee stopped for us as we approached the second hole and as we approached the 8th hole. On a jam packed course with wait times on every tee box, she should not have been trying to add 5 minutes per group to finish a hole. We waved her off and she likely lost out on sales and tips throughout the day. Never saw her after the turn, and we were thirsty.
I collect course logo balls, and was disappointed to find they have been out for a couple years, but they had NFL logo balls instead; maybe they sell more Dallas Cowboy balls than Huron Meadows? Strange.
We like to try new courses, and this course was nice. The food and staff at the turn were great. If we return, we would do so early morning when pace of play would be better. This layout is designed to accommodate 4 hours or less rounds easily. Perhaps a stronger pace of play statement, and reminder/enforcement?
Thank you.
Huron Meadows - Par
Great track for the money. Car paths need work, very bumpy as are most of the roughs near the fairway. Greens are great.
Huron Meadows
Course was in very nice shape. Took a little less than 5 hours, but on a beautiful Sunday PM about what you would expect. I was a single paired with a 3some and couldn't have been a better group.
5 Star
This course is challenging, beautiful, and affordable.
Outstanding condition for the price
Greens are very large so expect a lot of 40+ footers instead of chipping. Fairways are wide with several holes where you can miss and be fine. It was still early in the year so the weeds are cut meaning if you miss the fairway you're not losing your balls. Not a hilly course, flat with the exception of a few elevated tee boxes. There's lots of marshland on the course but surprisingly no wet/muddy areas in the fairways/rough/greens. Pace of play is hit and miss, I've had 5 hour rounds here during peak hours and 3 hours rounds during weekday Twilight. Prices are always close to the cheapest in the area.
