Gorgeous challenging course
We hit it at the end of the season so there were some chewed up Tee boxes, but overall a beautiful and challenging course. No food service due to it being November.
Great Track - I'll be back
Took advantage of 2 for 1 coupons and played this gem. Weather conditions were perfect but the course was a bit dry which meant that the greens were fast (and delightful). Fun layout. Shot 85 (45/40) and but for a few errant approach shots, I could have shot so much better.
This course was extremely difficult with a lot of water. Definitely not a course for a beginner. Pace of play was okay, I’ve seen worse. My first time but I probably won’t be back
Fun Golf!
Fun golf.. pace was somewhat slow and end of season was showing on course.
Picturesque front 9
First time playing this course it’s an hr away from me and I was not disappointed! The front 9 has a few holes that are just beautiful. Especially hole 3 I believe it’s a par 5 with an absolutely mesmerizing approach shot to an island green . Conditions are great, greens lightning fast with all of them sloping to the front of the green so try to stay below the hole or you will pay lol. Very open and playable course so you won’t lose many balls unless they get wet. Friendly staff as well. Shot an 85, those greens got me a few times. I’ll be back!
Metamora, what a challenging layout!
What a treat to play Metamora, fantastic layout that requires you to think your way around the course. Example, all the par 5's are guarded by water so getting home in 2 is not prudent but possible with all carry.
The only criticism is the bunker sand is not a fine grade bunker sand, it is dense and a little muddy, frankly, so somewhat surprising. The greens were in great shape but heavily sloped so DO NOT allow your approach shot to be long or you are looking at a long 2 putt, quite possibly a three putt or more, God forbid.
This is the second time that I have written this review, GolfNow.
We played this course behind a Members 2-man scramble Tournament, so the pin placements may have reflected this fact.
One surprising flaw was the bunker sand, very compacted and not the sand one would expect from a premium course.
Since it was the first time playing the course, we figured without the benefit of experience or local knowledge we were conceding 3-5 strokes per side. You must think your way around this 18, gripping and ripping is not advised.
Lovely Golf course
This is only my 2nd time playing on this course and I had not been here in several years.. I guess I did not remember what a beautiful golf course this is.. While waiting to tee off I often found myself pulling out my camera and taking pictures.. The course is challenging but not overly so. Lots of blind shots so I had to Go up and check to make sure I wasn't hitting into anyone' on several holes. I will definitely be coming back to play this course again hopefully very soon.
Challenging holes
Beautiful course with many challenges. Elevation changes galore and very good hazard placements. Bring extra balls if you’re a +15. Highly recommend for any skill level even just for the fantastic views.
Course was in great shape
The golf course was in very good shape. The greens were in good shape and running at a good speed. The only draw back were the bunkers they were all wet and you could not hit out of them. Love the layout of the holes except #9.
