The Woodlands Course at Whittaker

Course layout gets a little gimmicky on the back but the greens are in great shape which makes it fun . I cruised through playing as a single on a chilly but not cold Saturday am . Worth the drive and the time, one thing range balls were some of the dirtiest I’ve seen in decades .

No greens could be played on Temporary flags were used 30-40 yards of green. So putting through divots to flag was unfair but greens looked fine but they must have had their reasons

Front 9 was closed for aeration. Yet the info was not posted on their website. Have to play the back 9 twice. Wouldn't play this course if I knew.

We were disappointed in the quality of the course. The greens were fine but the fairways were really beat up. Pace of play was also an issue.

Sub Par course conditions and exceptionally difficult layout. This also led to slow playing. Literally, unless you hit laser straight shots off the tee, you will struggle with enjoying your round. Maybe 4 holes where you appreciate the architecture. All the others, you spend too much time trying to find a line through extremely narrow conditions. Doesn't matter what tee you play from either. Most of the logical landing areas are squeezed in tight. Lay back and you are looking at a long iron in and some of the holes are completely surrounded with forest so a slight mishit is penalized big time. The tee boxes are very rought and the fairways not far behind. Greens were true though. I am not trying to dump on this place but want people to know what to expect. Clubhouse and service in clubhouse was a good experience.

We played on a beautiful day. Course conditions were below par from the last time I played the course a coupe of years ago.

There are forced layups and the fairways were in just ok shape.

Glad we did not go at full price, some of the greens were very good, but some had rough area la and bare spots. Several fairways had bare patches and there was quite a bit of crabgrass.

It’s definitely over priced if you have to pay the full fare.

I think $50 would be on the high side for this course..

As far as the staff goes every one was super friendly and the cart attendant made several rounds I would say we saw her every two or three holes.

Nice layout, with improving conditions from tees to greens. Packed course with golfers enjoying the day. If you don't mind 5 hour round, then it's fantastic...

First time playing here. Great layout; challenging course; but it's in really rough shape right now. Practice range (first impressions start here) was a mess; solid crabgrass and divots, though there were a couple decently maintained chipping greens behind the range. First tee box (again, first impressions) was really worn down with little evidence of maintenance beyond mowing. Several other tee boxes in poor shape as well. Fairways and greens overall were decent, though I recall one fairway on the back nine that was pretty much fried. I'd say half the traps needed sand. I paid $35 to play which is probably what it's worth in current condition. Though that said, I would not play again for $35. Will only play again when course is brought back to reasonable standards and will gladly pay more. A layout like this, decently maintained, would be $75-$125 in Chicago area. Too nice a layout to let it degrade like this. Hope ownership can straighten out the ship.

Course was shockingly in rough shape from last few times I played here.. crab grass, burnt out tee boxes and sand traps were Not good at best. What’s funny is there were a few sand traps that were actually in good condition and they stood out like sore thumb.

Played twilight at $40.00 and that’s about all it’d spend here regardless of time if day.:: to bad because the layout and challenge are great however upkeep is well below par

Beautiful trees and layout but course conditions were not as expected for the price.

Had a great time here with some friends (12- three separate tee times back to back). Challenging front with a more forgiving back nine. Would definitely come back with how friendly their staff was!

Uninviting pro shop staff. Nice cart barn & beer cart people.
Very good layout, tough course from back tees.
HOWEVER- Soaked, fungus, dirt-spots, bumpy greens. Soaked, diseased, baked, divots galore fairways & tees. Unkept, non-raked, stone ridden, extra firm bunkers. Weeds overgrowing edges everywhere. Weeds growing high to block green & fairway views.
Not worth the money or time to play

First time playing this course this year. Staff was very friendly/accommodating. The course conditions have really degraded-very disappointing. Traps a mess, dead grass virtually everywhere, tee boxes in poor shape. Ok. Value for $40....wouldn’t pay much more.

Course overall great track....do to Corvid management has had a hard time getting green keepers back to work....

Which has affected the conditions of the course...I.e. tee boxes...grass conditioning throughout the course.

The course is a beautiful layout...just needs all the staff back to make it perfect!!

Should lower price....do to conditions.
