Beautiful course!
I went with my 16 year old son, his buddy and his dad who I’m buddies with. First time at the course, really beautiful nature all around you, nice and quiet and serene. I really liked the course and thought it played great. Enjoy!
7 hour rounds
The pace of play at Downing Farms is absolutely atrocious. It is easily the slowest playing course in all of south east Michigan, and arguably the slowest in the whole state. My tee time was at 12:08. By 12:58, I was still waiting to hit my tee shot on the 3rd hole. That’s 50 minutes for 2 holes, resulting in a 7.5 hour round. This is as a single, mind you. If you mention the pace of play to the staff, expect some serious attitude coming back your way. They are unwilling to accept any accountability when it comes to overbooking and will insist it is YOU at fault for wanting to play at a reasonable pace. Your shoes will get muddy, not from the course, but because the parking lot isn’t big enough to fit everyone they’ve booked, and your only other option for parking is a massive mud pile off to the side. The rangers are non-existent; they do not do anything to help pace of play. The course itself is a fun little course that is pretty well maintained and is great for shooting low. I played this course nearly twenty times last year, and it was great. Pace of play was decent and the staff was friendly. This year is a compete different story. Unless they make it somehow possible to finish a round here in under 6 hours, I wouldn’t recommend playing here. Your time would be better spent hitting off a mat in an empty field.

I'd go back if I have all day to play.
Great course. Lay out was nice. But the pace of play needs to be enforced. 2 hour and 15 mins to get through 9 holes is a little ridiculous. That's the only thing I would change...

Worth the Trip
Good value for the money. Course was in decent shape so early in the year. Mid 40 degrees. Played 18 in 2 hours and 10 minutes. Not busy at all. Just wanted to get a round in somewhere and was happy I went there. Would do it again.
