Great course off beaten path
I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this course was. It has a hilly terrain and nice tree rolling undulating greens. There are two different 9's. The first is cut through trees with the back being more wide open. We played the blue tees to add distance to the holes. I would recommend this course which is a great value for what is paid in green fees and the conditions of the course.
Solid Value
Good layout and challenge for the price. Decent pace of play but that is just luck of the draw. Greens were beautiful and fairways good. The rough is rough. Worth a try if you have never been to Willow Wood.
Best Value
This course is kept in as good of shape as any. It’s not real long but there are still challenges on every hole. Fun but challenging course that’s kept up very well.
GNATS GNATS GNATS!!
I knew this course wasn’t going to be Pebble Beach or anything for $34 to play 18 holes, but I never expected playing a course that was infested with more gnats than I’ve ever seen and have a very strong fertilizer smell that left your ball blue when you putt!
The gnats were so bad you couldn’t stand still for more than a couple seconds without a swarm around you smacking you in the face, landing in your ear, or flying in your mouth. Concentrating on any shot was near impossible.
This course made my golf experience terrible and I wouldn’t recommend anyone playing this course until they get their course in better shape. Excessive fertilizer and an insect problem isn’t the greatest conditions to play golf in!
Michigans Hidden Gem.
This place is wonderful. There are challenging holes that will make you rethink how you golf. The only downside (which I’m hoping they’ll correct) they don’t sell and NA beer. Other than that, I give this 5 stars!!!
5 Star++
Excellent course! Everything was perfect! Fairways were green and nicely mowed; greens were fantastic; tee boxes in great shape. Pro shop lady was very nice, and friendly! This is a hidden gem!
Willowood Golf Course
Course in great shape, Excellent speed of play, friendly staff!
Nice course, good pric
This is a hidden gem. It is pretty short, but very challenging. Fairways are narrow and greens are well maintained. Take a lot of balls.
Great course, in great condition
The course is in great condition, price was great, have played many times and will continue to come back.
Truly is a Hidden Gem
Almost to nice to let others in on this "Hidden Gem". This for me is a "Risk/Reward" course. Don't be afraid to lay up or bomb away (your choice). Sand traps could use some work (2.5 to 3 inches of rain the night before), so some were ponds. Always enjoy.
Challenging greens
Nice course, greens were challenging to read. You can tell they are trying to keep playable turf watered. It's hard to keep looking nice in a hot drought. It was a nice place to play.
Nice layout
Have to go back in the summer to play!!! It was fall and can't not expect leaves.
Coures is nice, staff was so rude I will not go back
