Challenging course
We had a great time playing this course! The holes were challenging but fair! We will be back.
Very rough conditions but character, one and done. Would try Pines or Quest
Well, we made a trip over towards frankenmuth on Friday, September 29 and played the Timbers which was a really neat course. I just reviewed that and we stayed in Bay City and then we worked our way up to see a little more foliage up towards Houghton Lake he wanted to keep the price down, and I found this course online tee off for only 35 bucks for two of us on a Saturday morning, so I did not expect much and it did not deliver much. We drove through the dream and nightmare on the way in here, and the nightmare looked fantastic. I don’t know why they gave it that name, but it was gorgeous looking Home yeah, this course is built in 1967 plenty long 6300 yards from the blue tees and very tight and there are at least three par threes from the tips that are over 200 yards. Yeah the nice little statued white deer are kind of cool but overall the conditions are terrible for fairways. The Teebox is the greens were just aerated , but for the price I guess oh well we played through a five some of course on the third hole skipped over actually and then we played through a obnoxious threesome on the ninth and then we breeze through the back nine got done three hours overall skipped pretty much a whole and a half. It’s a one and done course for us. We won’t play it again we drove by them. I believe it’s called the Pines Which look till you’re in better shape from the road and then we drove in by the quest and it looked pretty decent to sell. I will probably rate this to third course in the Houghton Lake area. I will try the other two for sure and we’re one and done here but hey, we played golf cheap on a Saturday morning. It was nice and it’s all good. The foliage was starting to turn. This course is really right on the road the main drag, which is busy and the homes all the way around the course , what the yeah it was cheap in the wife I said I should give it a one star but I gave it to sorry about that but am I for see the scores getting sold someday but it probably does a good business because it’s by the lake and the price is cheap
White Deer
Very fair and challenging course with great pace of play. Parkland setting with many mature trees.
Very Good Reasonable Priced Course
White Deer was not designed by a big name architect, but you would never know that. Greens are modern, slightly raised and have plenty of undulation and quirk to them. They even have one with a tree in the middle!
Course is walkable and well laid out and for the price
This course can not be beat.
Perfect for the price
If you are looking to play a cheap round of golf, this place is great. We had fun. Staff was friendly.
Course is 7 out of 10.
Greens were rolling very well. Course is well maintained.
always a fun time here, green fee, beer reasonable
If your all hoyty toyty, this might not be the course for you, a great place for newbys, for the better players can be easy if you stay out of trouble,,,,good luck
Course needs work
Most of the fairways and greens are dead or burned out. Trees are overgrown and need trimming. Sand traps need to be mowed. No fringes. Very poor course. I only $14.50 for 18 and cart and I wished I got my money back. I would not recommend anyone to play this course.
This course would be great for the beginer.
Do no underestimate this course. While it appears to be laid
out quite simple, with open fairways and relatively flat greens.
It still presents a challenge to the everyday hacker. The water
hazards are strategically placed to give even the experienced
golfer fits. With anywhere from 31 to 40 sand traps, you have
plenty of opportunity to practice getting of the beach. I would
recommend this course to my friends any day.
