Open Links Style, Hilly, and Fun
Had fun at this Links style, hills course. Not super challenging but not easy either. Definitely want to play again.
Course etiquette
I have to start with Blackheath is a great track. Layout is amazing. Tough but score able in a lot of areas.
Now the bad for years everyone talks about how they enjoy Blackheat but the pace of play and on course conditions stop them from going back.
Trash left on the course ball marks continously not repaied on the greens in sad.
We have complained to management to up the green fee by $15 to $20 to remove trash golfers who come out to play poorly and damage the course.increased green fees will help better pace of play, eliminate trash golfers and give golfers a better on course experience.
Disappointing Twilight Tee Time Experience
My recent experience at Blackheath during a twilight tee time was highly unsatisfactory. The lack of organization and disregard for proper course etiquette made it an extremely frustrating outing.
One of the major issues we encountered was the constant problem of people skipping over holes. It seemed as though there was little to no monitoring or enforcement of the order of play. This resulted in significant delays and an unfair waiting game for those who followed the rules. At one point, we found ourselves waiting on four different groups ahead of us, causing an unnecessarily lengthy round.
Moreover, the apparent absence of any course marshals or staff members to regulate the flow of play further exacerbated the problem. Without proper supervision, the golf course became a chaotic free-for-all, with players taking liberties and causing significant delays for others.
A round of golf should be an enjoyable experience, but unfortunately, Blackheath failed to meet even the most basic expectations. The disregard for maintaining a fair and orderly pace of play severely impacted our overall satisfaction. It’s disappointing to witness such poor management and a lack of consideration for golfers’ time and experience.
Given our disappointing twilight tee time at Blackheath Golf Club, I cannot recommend this establishment to fellow golfers seeking a well-organized and enjoyable golfing experience.
Just knot for me.
If you want golf that’s all you will get here. No food, you get lightbulb hot hot dogs. No onions. Ketchup mustard only. No drinks for adults.
Great course
Pretty much everything about this course is nice had a great time played some of my best golf
Slow
This has been one of my favorite courses, but it was Wednesday, and way overbooked. Something has changed because this never happened before.
Ok at best
I mean to be honest they have good greens no bad patches on them. Holes are a little close I feel like for the area they could expand. For my first time playing there I wasn’t at all like completely wowed. I know courses closer to berkley that are wayyy nicer and a better price too. But if you live close then I’d say it’s a regular course for you but I drive an hour and personally I didn’t think it was worth it. But nice course. 3/5 for me.
A course with character
First time playing this course and I was impressed! Loved the course conditions
Tee boxes -8.5/10
Greens- 10/10
Fairways -10/10
The course has a lot of character with all the heather surrounding greens and bunkers and a few water holes as well. The only problem with the course is that some holes are pretty tight together (almost got hit many times) can’t blame the course for the bad golfers lol. Other than that this course is a GEM. A course like no other that I’ve played.
Disappointed
I love this course and want to play it. The only problem is they require you to have 4 on the weekends or they will not let you play. If you try to call and book less than 4 they tell you to book it online. Most ridiculous policy I've ever heard of.
Best value
Blackheath is in wonderful condition, best value in the area.
Staff :(
Really unfriendly and treated my group of 4 as an inconvenience rather than paying customers. Travel around the state during the summer playing different golf courses and not many experiences like this in dealing with the staff. Felt mostly uncomfortable after initial interaction. Ran into Tom the GM to ask if I could get some advice for my days round and was told “yeah don’t be slow” without stopping to even acknowledge our presence. Really poor. Course was average. Decent layout but many options in the area. Won’t be back
