First day of the year
Nice rate off of TeeOff. It's a long walk though. Greens very very slow. I could use to them though. No tee markers to let you know what tee your on (can be hectic at this course, as multiple tee boxes in thy same area) but understandable due to being early March.
Good, but odd
First time ever golfing here. Some holes’ fairways were mostly perfect, but some were patchy. However, some holes on the back half are set up very odd. Not a fan of #12 in particular, need signs to say hit this direction, had no idea where flag is. But this is a nice, not only drivers off the tee box course, some you have to play strategically and hit a 3iron or 3 wood for instance. Front 9 was 4.5/5 and back half was 3.5-4/5. Would play again though, just interesting enough to continue to play.
Conditions are deteriorating
Tee boxes themselves weren’t in horrible shape, but weren’t great. But the big problem was that the fairways haven’t been watered it feels like. If you take a chunk out of the ground the dirt is like clay underneath, so you have to hit straight ball. I even lost some tee shots after it hit the fairway and bounced to some unknown location. And the layout of the course just isn’t good.
Great Day of Golf
My wife and I are visiting the area for several weeks and looking for different courses to try. Today's conditions were great with gentle breezes and low 70's. We found the course in great shape with excellent fairways and greens. It is a challenging . but not difficult course. We are intrigued by the blind approaches, elevation changes (small cliffs), and intricate water hazards. The layout can be a little confusing but, if one follows the map on the back of the scorecard, you can easily navigate it.
We had a wonderful time today and are looking forward to our next opportunity to play here.
This course is one of the worst that I've ever played
Multiple completely blind tee shots. Hitting 5/6 irons instead of driver on most holes because you cannot see the pin or even the fairway. One of the holes you start behind some trees and there is an immediate dog leg right on the Par 4 (not possible to hit a good tee-shot unless you can slice it 80 yards right). Very confusing layout, criss-crossing fairways. Greens were incredibly inconsistent. The only good thing about this course was the guy in the pro-shop. He was incredibly friendly but I will not be returning to play this course. Save your money and play elsewhere.
A fun house golf course
It is early April and I am thankful there are few courses that will let you out. It was wet and the leaves of fall are still on the course, both are understandable. The greens were actually pretty nice. The course layout is interesting. It is well marked and you can look around and find where you are going but it feels like there are fairways running everywhere. On one hole on the back nine you hit off of the top of a ravine down to the green and I could hardly figure out how to get down the hill across the creek and to the green. There were a number of holes that were blind shots off the tee. Strangely enough I want to come back in the summer and see what take two is like. You would have to ply this course a couple times to get a feel for distances and ball placement.
Don't bother
Never played a course with so many blind unplayable holes . No fun also half is a swamp ruff so long spent more time looking for balls just off the fairway. Maybe in a drought and they cut some trees over the swamp . I'm never coming back
Worst Course I've Ever Played
Standing water everywhere on the course.
Tee boxes were absolutely horrible.
Holes overlapped each other and did not make sense.
Yardages weren't even close to being right.
Range was partially under water.
Couldn't even play the 4th hole because it was under water.
Tee boxes in the middle of fairways.
Greens weren't even cut.
Every. Single. Shot. Plugged.
Mud everywhere.
Wouldn't play this course again for free.
Great course for the money
Great course. It was a little dry but that is because we have not had a lot of rain.
So challenge
This course was very good, but so challenge.
Maple Creek...luckily we saved money with GolfNOW
In all fairness, it had rained a day before, and the back nine is extremely low land, so it retains water. Balls plugged and you lost balls that were in the fairways!
Golf Cart battery ran low and had to be replaced on the back nine too. We also were hungry after the front nine but the Fire Grille was open until after Mothers Day...go figure! Call McDonlds down the road!!! They need a viable microwave option, or have fresh sandwiches that can be warmed up.
Not worth the $$$$ at this time....could change in a week or month?
Nice day for golf
Nice course to play. The only bad thing was the fairway were hard and the grass was cut way to short.
Lots of work
It's great to see effort being put into a nicely laid out course. From removing trees, planting new and even brush hogging the mosquito zones this course is in great shape and has huge potential. Lies were soft and plush. Greens very consistent. Club house is top notch
