Reviews
Paid $25 and it was still too high
I have played this course several times as it is close to my home. Today's tee time was a Hot Deal, and I regret my decision to play at half price. No starter. No ranger. Stacked 4-somes on every single tee. Half of the holes were flooded and are made up of dead grass, and there were so many times we had to take relief to hit our balls from actual grass. I will not be bringing my business back to this course, and urge anyone to stay far away with as many other options as we have in the Lansing area. The fact they have the audacity to charge $50-70 a round is absolutely absurd.
Solid MSU Course for Amatuers (Like Me)
Akers East is effctively my home course because of its value and consistant upkeep. The practice facilities (driving range and puttong green) are rop notch and they take good care of the course. The staff is friendly and do a good job. More consistant coffee and better bear selection would be good at the turn.
It was late in the year so the rough waa a little rougher than usual and the leaves were effecring two different greens. Pace was fine with my dad and I keep a four hour pace for eighteen. Ive played a three hour pace going solo as well..
Overall good value play on a well kept course with good practice facilities. West is more challenging for when you get your game together
Great course
I've been here multiple times and have never played well, BUT it is a great course. It's very well maintained. They always have a great pace on this course. It's deceptive fairways for those of us who don't consistently hit straight. But it's a fun course.
Very nice
I play in a league at this course and took the kids out for 9 holes on Saturday afternoon. Reasonable prices, not crowded despite the weekend and course was in good shape for end of summer and a heavy rain last night. The East Course is more relaxed and has a more forgiving layout in comparison to the west. Practice facility is excellent as well.
AVID GOLFER
The course is in great condition. Staff was very friendly. Had a great time.
Good value.
Can’t Beat the price. Course was pretty easy but the greens were true. Would recommend for a fun round of golf.
Always a pleasure!
Try to play this course couple of times a year. Always enjoyable, especially for Spartan fan guests from out of town. Multiple tees make it playable for any level golfer. Greens putt true & quick. Crew working out on the course always friendly. First rate range & practice green. Thanks for being so kind to Seniors, price wise, on weekdays. Come on golfers, young & otherwise, fix your ballmarks & one other, ok?
Fun, Relatively Challenging, Way Too Busy
The course was a good mix of fun and challenging through all 18 holes; however, I played on a Saturday evening and within the first two holes we noticed players stacked up waiting in front and behind us. It was mostly annoying having to play at such a disrupted pace and I would suggest separating tee times by more time even if they had to charge a few dollars more.
Following tournament, made pace of play slow
Other than the pace of play, everything was up to par or better. Staff were very friendly and accommodating (gave us range balls while waiting for late tee time). Always enjoy playing this course. Take advantage of the excellent practice facilities. Go early, chip, drive, and putt, makes the round more enjoyable.
East never charges $50-$70, so to say that is just dishonest.
