An absolute blast!
I played this course with some family while we were on vacation in the area. East to find and a great value for the money. The gazebo bar is available at multiple points in the round and is definitely worth spending a few moments and grabbing a drink!
Good course
Well places hazards. Lots of fun shots. Only down side. Tee Boxes were a little beat up. But great other than that
Great Value!
Always a fun day. They've got a great lakeside bar after the 7th and 12th. Weird layout in the front 9, but it makes it fun. Highly recommend it for the value alone.
Challenging short course. Don't forget to stop at the gazebo!
A Challenging Course
This course is very challenging. Narrow fairways, postage stamp greens and very sloped greens. However, it is a beautiful course and fun to play.
Nice course; excellent condition
Love this course (with the exception of the really long 16th hole). Fairways and greens were in great shape. Wish there were a few more distance markers on the holes- 100 yard markers were there but didn’t see many 150 and 200 yard markers.
Extremely slow, but very cool course
Played on a Saturday morning in September. Tee time was set for 8:50, pushed back an hour due to frost, and didn't end up finishing until 3:30. Outside of that the course is really cool. Very scenic holes on the lake with tons of hills. It's not very long, but there are plenty of 190+ par threes to add some challenge.
Won’t Be Back
It was our first time playing this course and unfortunately it was on a day where they had several different outings going on. The pace of play on the front nine was brutally slow as groups of 6-12 golfers were playing together on the same holes. There was no martial on the course to monitor this activity but there was a kid running more drinks to the golfers from the club house. It was an absolute circus.
As for the course, it’s in a beautiful area by Paw Paw Lake and surrounded by nicely wooded landscapes and some beautiful homes with two greens actually near the lake. But the layout is nothing like we’ve ever seen with the first two holes as par threes. This probably causes pace of play issues right from the start on any given day. The tee boxes are in horrible shape and the greens are completely marred with unrepaired ball marks which is a sign of the level of golfers that play this course. The par threes all seem to play almost 200 yards and most of the par fours are less than 300 yards. There are 3 holes in the middle of the course that are actually nice. One par 4 which plays 400 yards and a couple of Par 5s at 500+ yards.
All in all a really awkward design and disappointing experience. No matter the cost, there are better golf courses to play nearby. We won’t be back.
Fun Vacation Course, Tough To Play Though
In town for a wedding, and we took the groom out for this course as Jack's place was too expensive. Its a fun vacation course, we played from the blues, handled the first par 3 rather well, Moving forward, we just have no idea how much trouble we could get into it. Some holes has lot of woods with poison ivy in it, so with that unfortunate bounces, ball would be lost.. Other holes had fun heather which make it difficult to find.. Unfortunately, we did not have any local guidance, areas to avoid, or best areas to land for better approach shots. Greens were in decent shape, although we had way too many 3 putts for our liking.. The bars at 7 and 12 seems ideal but they were not open.. If you are in the area, give the course a try, and expect to play bogey golf..
Well-maintained and quirky
This is an old-school course with tight fairways and compact greens. There are some quirky holes that I would play differently; hopefully I will play it again soon.
Excellent condition, poor pace of play
This course is always in excellent condition, and is a great value. A few long par 3’s on the front nine are challenging, but there are some short par 4’s as well. My only complaint is the pace of play. Every time I’m there there’s at least 2 groups waiting to tee off, and the front nine sometimes takes 3 hours. If they could manage their send off times better this would be a 5/5
Good but beware
No policing on the course so beware of 5 or more playing together naturally slowing play.
Nice as Usual, One Annoyance
I love this course and have been playing it since I was 16....40+ years. The course is well maintained, the open air bar is a nice touch. My issue has been the booking time the last couple of times I've been out. I booked a 1:07 pm time and you sure as heck better be off by 5 pm because leagues start and they trundle out to the tees and if you're not finished, too bad you're stuck. I was done by others behind we were not so fortunate. I think this should be made clear at time of booking or at least when you arrive.
