Greens in rough shape, decent course
Greens were burned out and had been aerated a few days prior. I was not informed of this. After a week of rain there were obviously some wet spots, but actually everything else's in decent shape
Not bad for what it is
Fun little course. Pace was great for a Saturday. Would play again.
Fun little hidden gem
This is a fun little low-key hidden away course with great greenery & scenery!
Golf
Funky layout from hole 3 to hole 4 tee box. Almost shot tee box 7 after 3. I still hate trees.
This is more of a confidence boosting course
This course has several drivable par 4 greens. If you want your lowest score of your life come here lol. However the course is really choppy, the greens are super slow and crazy dead spots of longer grass all over them, I wouldn’t make this my top choice for a nice or even decent round of golf, but one of the better super cheap courses I have played. I would play again if I wanted to get 9 holes in quickly.
Course was in good shape. Fairways could have been cut a little shorter and there were a few greens with serious damage, but the grounds crew was out there working on the issues. Pace was good for how crowded it was. There was a senior golf outing and the local high school JV girls golf team out at the same time, and I still got done pretty quickly. OveralL, a great experience.
Great for practice rounds, not for foursomes
This is a pretty simple and short course, family owned I believe and decently maintained except for a few greens. Some elevation changes and hole layouts make it a little more challenging than your typical small 9-hole course. If you’re looking to get in a practice/confidence round then this is a great course for that. Large groups of older gentlemen/women compiled by an inordinate clientele of below average golfers can drastically slow the pace of play. No alcohol is sold on the course and no alcohol is allowed, however, the garbage cans on the course are always full to the point overflow with empty beer cans and other alcoholic drinks; there is not much regulation on that policy. In any event, the relatively low cost to play and the ease of access to Wixom/Walled Lake/Commerce Township residents it’s well worth dealing with some of the minor nuisances.
