Eagle Crest Golf Club
About
Located in Ypsilanti just off I-94 between Detroit Metro Airport and Ann Arbor is Eagle Crest Golf Club, operated by Eastern Michigan University and home to the college golf teams. Eagle Crest opened in 1987 and is a daily-fee course with a Marriott hotel located onsite. The elevated driving range and practice area overlooks Ford Lake and the course layout features several holes that play along its shores. The highlight is the signature par-5 16th hole that features a shallow, peninsula green on the lake. In 2012, EMU embarked on a 20-year master plan to the golf course that will elevate the stature of the course among NCAA host courses. Enhancements include tree management and more views of the lake, rebuilt greens and rerouted cart paths.

impressed with the course
Great day, Great course, great service inside clubhouse.......9 out of 10!!!!
Tough greens, amazing range
Greens are very undulating, most difficult part of the course. Holes are somewhat close together. Lots of elevation changes. One of the most picturesque driving ranges I have ever seen, it’s a shame they don’t have golf holes there instead. A couple holes are very drastic doglegs. GPS in carts are always a nice touch and great sand in bunkers. Be weary of playing holes near range, white range balls scattered everywhere.
Beautiful and challenging course
I've played here in the Summer when this course really shines overlooking Ford Lake!
It is rated ninth in college golf courses nationwide (as it is the Eastern Michigan home golf course)!
The views are fantastic and the golf is great. My friend kept saying, "what a great golf hole", during the whole round.
I agree, and the condition of the gofl course in Michigan now...surprisingly good! The peninsula hole...you'll love it!
Great Course!
The course has a great layout and really makes you hit the shot you need to set you up for the next shot. The staff in both the clubhouse and the restaurant are super friendly and will help you out with anything you need.
They have cut down a ton of trees in the last few years which I personally am not a fan of. As a result, the holes along Ford Lake are dominated by Geese most of the summer and your biggest hazard will be their droppings. They do have some mitigation efforts in place but they are totally ineffective. There has been a lot of construction on the course the last couple year which has been an inconvenience, but once that is complete it should be a legit MAC course for the home team. On a side note, that big beautiful Hickory guarding the green on 11 should NEVER have been cut down! One of the dumbest decisions they made. I love this course and if they could figure out the goose droppings it would absolutely be worth the greens fees. Also, they just installed new Trackman simulators which are fantastic, really great space. Hopefully all the construction will be done soon and it will be back to just golf…
Just to recap, greens fees seem a bit high due to all of the construction and the major geese issue, but if those issues can be addressed, totally worth it!
Beauty and the beasts
Very nice view with all of the water. Need to know the layout and distances due to sharp dog legs. Started off irritated as staff at check-in tried to charge me twice even though prepaid online, then they dont allow you to move cart for pre round practice, cart must stay put by cart garage, no ball washers on a single tee box no bunker rakes. Terrible pace of play and extremely crowded, pair everyone up leaves all over the greens obviousky not blown for a few days. Definitely not worth the high cost to play, could be great if better managed.
One of the better ones in the Detroit area
Challenging, yet fun to play. Great views all around. Can get expensive during peak times
Great day to play
Great conditions, always one of my favorite layouts in lower Michigan
First time, will return
I was in town and was recommended this course by a family member. When we made the reservation we did not know the back 9 was closed for fall maintenance, so we played the front twice, but even with recently punched greens the course was in great shape overall. Was a ton of fun to play and will return next time I am in town.
Great and challenging course
Wonderful course. Front nine is very playable for intermediates and the back nine is more challenging with elevation, water, traps and tiered greens. Will be returning.
Eagle crest
Great course. Front nine is delightful. Back nine raises the stakes with tiered greens and elevation changes and then water. Challenging but will be back to hone skills.
Great course to play
Love this golf course, always in a great shape, course plays fair. Definitely will challenge you but you can score if you keep it in play. Love the greens, always well maintained. Pace of play tends to slow down on the back nine as it's tougher then the front. Beautiful scenery everywhere. Highly recommend playing here.
Pace of play
Pace of play was poor, because in front of us have been a twosome who waited the flight in front of them to clear the green on every par 4 and thensmashing the balls into the void, resulting to play another ball. No rangers around and get back bad looks when we addressed the issue to the twosome.
