Good course for money. Fairways can be a bit long. But overall good course and not too challenging.
Peterson review
Good course and good value. I am golfing more at that course due to GolfNow. I am recommending your services to my golfing friends.
New course
Not a bad course to change up playing the same old ones. Staff is very nice and the course was in decent shape concerning the leaves are falling.
Strong iron play is key to success at Southbrook
Narrow fairways flanked by hazards on either side make you think twice about hitting driver on most of the par 4's on the back nine from the back tees. As a consequence, mid-irons to the greens will be a popular choice. The greens are undulating but not overwhelmingly so allowing for straightforward chipping and lag-putting. A great score can be had.
For the nominal cost, this course was an exceptional value for the quality & player experience.
As an added bonus, the bar/restaurant "Southbrook Grill" was a real treat following our round; definitely worth a try.
Visitor from the Cities
A nice course and a good deal for the amateur to mid- level golfer!
Excellent value
Southbrook is a pleasant and the course that should be enjoyable for all levels of play. The back nine is heavily wooded and requires a good degree of accuracy.
Good course
Played via great GolfNow deal with my son. In decent shape for Mid-October
outing
Great, nice track, worth the drive
Well done
Groomed very well...nice greens...t boxes very well placed..
Good pin placment!
great course for the money
Got to play for $10.00 with cart! This course is fun to play. I have played this course numerous times and we always play in 3 hours or less. If you are in the area during the week and want to get in a quick round this is the place. Never had any problems using Golfnow at this course, just walk in and they give you the keys to the cart. Not an over challenging course and the greens are in great shape.
Fun challenging course
I went with my wife, it was only her second time playing and the ladies tees are generous which was great. Challenging enough course where you can lose balls. Great location and pretty spot. I'll be back again.
Great value
Great weather, excellent value, course in great shape. I will play there again soon.
Decent course, not too challenging but can get tight if you can't hit it straight
We played this course on one of the last good weather days of the year in mid-November.
Course was in good shape all-around, no major complaints. Only one green I noticed with lots of brown spots, but someone thought it was just the geese doing a number on it.
The greens were slower than I was expecting based on some other reviews I read beforehand. We thought the greens felt slower than fast, but still pretty moderate/average. They were also pretty straightforward, generally not a ton of break aside from one with a steep drop-off.
The rough wasn't cut super long but was still thicker than usual.
Very few trees (the lateral water hazard pretty much replace the tree lines), but a couple were obtrusive on doglegs.
Definitely not a target course, but can feel pretty tight on a number of holes. No room to hit onto other holes' fairways or anything like that. There was also frequently only like 10-15 yards (or less) of rough between the fairways and the lateral water hazard stakes on both sides, so you better hit it straight.
Course layout was pretty basic for the most part with 2-3 more interesting holes (I thought holes 9 and 18 had interesting tee shots). Kind of a links-style course, I believe.
Pretty easy course if you can consistently hit it straight. The tightness was the most challenging part, I thought.
Pace was slow because of the fivesome ahead of us.
end of the year good note
people were nice
pizza was very good
course was in decent condition for time of year
would return
Great course, great time
Always like playing Southbrook. Fun time, we will be back to play again!!
Great Time
We had a great time. Very friendly staff and the weather was perfect! They have a new cook that is amazing!
Value Golf
Great price and decent course. Lots of weather resulted in standing water on many holes, but that can't be helped.
