Good for the price
They didn't have enough carts so we had to wait, but we did want to push our tee time back, and they were very accommodating.
Sloowwwwwwww
Overall nice course, good shape, challenging greens. Not sure why but 1st tee box was STACKED @ 9am. We were 4th in line to tee off and by the time we did hit the tee box, there were another 5 stacked behind us. Hurry up and wait the entire front 9. Not sure why they weren't starting some off 10. Back 9 the pace picked up, I think most only played the front 9. Fix the scheduling and I'd give it claims she to a 4 stars
Worth the somewhat short drive
Not often is everything at a golf course perfect. I didn't have any food so I can't rate that. The Staff and Bev Cart were superb, so many times staff at a golf course are mundane, not these people! The course was in perfect shape. I will be back!
Tee times one minute apart.
Booked and prepaid online. Only staggered the tee times one minute apart. Not happy.
Great!!!!
We have golfed this course many times and love it!
Great Course
Viking Meadows is a great course. It is very cheap if you go through golfnow. I would recommend this course to anyone.
Viking
Course was playing at a 5 hour and 50 min round, by the time we made the turn it was 2h 45m we left without even getting rain checks because we wouldn't go back. Staff was nice and friendly but no ranger and no sense of people on course trying to speed up themselves. I know it was Fathers Day Sunday so even 4h 30 mins would have been exceptable. Course was in bad shape rough and fairways not taking care of at all.. Blah blah blah.. I am sure the average golf can figure out the rest..I am a 18 handicap so just your average golfer that plays 3 times a month. Other courses is my opinion if your looking for a deal or enjoying are keeped up course.
Good course.
Viking has always been a decent to good course. The changes made in the last 10 years helped a lot to playability, but clubhouse is small and could use a facelift. Course itself is in decent shape. Lots of bumps and craters even in fairways, so be prepared for that. I will visit at least once a year.
first time for my tee partners
course was in very nice shape, while the greens were not extremely fast, they rolled true. Great value for the golf dollar
Down hill slide
I have played this course several time over the past few years. It has declined to a point where I don't think they even mow it anymore. The rough is like a hay field, the greens appear to have overgrown the fairways.....not a day on the course. I will not play this again, especially having so many nice courses in the area...
this course has some ineresting holes
the pace of play kinda ruined it for me other then that for the right price its a fun course.
The course was in great shape, well maintained
I'd play it again at that price! The course is well laid out and a challenge for most players.
I would do it again
I have played this course twice. Both times the course was wet after rain. Fun course, lots of tree lined fairways so easy to lose balls. Not too crowded, reasonable price, friendly staff and excellent bloody marys.
Lost balls
The course is challenging and not forgiving if a ball goes out of play, the greens are excellent and grass very good. But to the players in front of us they should have been stopped and forced too skip a hole. They spent to much time looking for balls. Over all a great course we'll maintained and we'll be playing it again.
golf always has sme good parts
its important to get off the teebox well
course was in pretty good shape
weather was good
Viking meadows
Viking meadows is a challenging course. The fairways and greens are in good condition. We were paired up with 2 nice young men.
Great Value/ a diamond in the rough
I was very pleasantly surprised by the golf course. Given the weather the condition was quite reasonable and the course has numerous deceptive and interesting hazards.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and competent and helpful regarding the conditions on the course. I would recommend this course to anyone seeking a fun experience at a great value. The course is moderate difficulty, but challenging nevertheless.
Last resort....really!!
I don't think anyone that player there in the last week had replaced a ball mark or used a rake. General conditions were poor, too, as flags were torn or not even sitting atop the flag pole.
Some blind shots with the hazards not even indicated on the scorecard or the signs posted on the tee box.
Minimal yardage assistance.
Stood in the pro shop for about 3 minutes before I was helped - they were too busy chatting with their buddies about how the round went.
Nice place and a fun course
This is a nice course. My family loves to get together to play golf and this is one of only courses in the area that we all can agree on. We have varying skill levels between us and the course plays well to all of our styles. I like that it is a little out of the way as it is not as busy as most Twin Cities courses. There is also a nice executive course that my kids love. The executive course is rarely busy and has been a good place for my kids to learn how to play. Overall, a great place to get out and play. Can't wait for it to open for this year.
Some areas need attention
A lot of hardpan off the fairway and near a few greens
