Dahlgreen Golf Club

I like to play different courses when I get the chance. I thought this course had some good holes and some awesome views. Nothing like the tee shot off number ten to start your back 9. I will definitely be back for a replay.

Greg and I played 18 holes in 2 hrs and 50 minutes. Course was in good shape but a little long for our age at 6,550 yds or so. Dahlgreen needs to add another tee box at around 6,200 yds for ages 60 to 75.

The course was in great condition. We were very impressed with the greens and the fact that the fairways and ruff didn't have many leaves. It is definitely fall in Minnesota. Oh and by the way I had a eagle 2 on number 15, I was 156 yards out with a 7 iron into the wind. My very 1st eagle 2. The price was great the round was a lot of fun.

This was a great find; a hidden gem. Driving up to the course doesn't look impressive but once on course it is lush and well maintained from tee to green. Very traditional layout where good scores can be made.

Pace of play was excellent and greens were very consistent. Staff was friendly.

Would recommend to any level golfer.

Solid course great shape excellent greens just needed a beverage cart out as it was a warm day.
Driving range is adequate for warm up hit clubs up to 200 yards. A diamond in the middle of the countryside.

Course was in relatively good shape. Is fall season so plenty of leaves in play. Only downer of round was they wouldn't let us get going early when there was no one playing in front of us.. Overall not too bad

We golfed 18 holes, had so much fun we golfed another 18.Staff/management was very accommodating.I will be coming back,often.

I couldn't pass up the great deal I got on Golfnow. I played this course 20+ years ago so it was fun to play again. The cart paths were in pretty rough shape but the greens were great and blue teeboxes very nice too.

What I love the most is the green tee. The condition is very good, and very big.

Course in great shape. Keep,it in the fairways. Trees line the fairways take your medicine and punch out!,

Feels like you are WAY out in the country...not just five minutes from downtown Chaska. What a great "country course"! Greens are smooth, true, fast, undulating and really tough...you'll be lucky to have more than one straight putt all day!

Fun and friendly clubhouse bar but it doesn't open yet for our 7:12am tee time. First experience was at the turn.

The 4-5 stall driving range is about 1/2-mile from the main parking lot and clubhouse, so bring some dollar bills and warm up before you head for the clubhouse. ($2 for 25 balls! Can't beat that!)

The only negative was the gas cart. The are really old, no amenities, they rattle a bit and the GPS did not work. Bring your laser rangefinder.

This course can be very challenging if your not in the fairway! You can find yourself punching out of the trees. The greens were some of the best I have played on all year! Rolled great with good speed! I wasn't a huge fan of the tee boxes. Hard to find a level spot. We played from the whites. Overall great course! The last time I played here was four years ago. Great deal on Golf Now!

I have played this course many times over the last 8 years. In my opinion, the most important part of most golf courses is the layout and the condition of the greens. That said, here are my thoughts on this course:

Pros: At Dahlgreen, the greens are amazing at ALL times. I have played most of the great courses in the state and have not putted on better greens. The speed is great (~9 stimp meter) and more importantly, they are smooth, lush, and look perfect. The layout is moderately challenging. There are trees everywhere, so there is definitely a penalty for inaccurate tee shots, but there are no forced carries and you can usually have a decent shot from the trees if you do go astray. Course length is challenging for most (6400 from the whites, 6700 from the blues). The staff has been great. The proshop staff is amazing and most of the bar/dining area and beverage cart staff are fun and friendly as well.

Cons: The par 3's are all roughly the same yardage (150-170). It would be nice to have a little more variety here. Also, the beverage/dining service (which is run separately from the golf course) is inconsistent. On-course beverage service is a bit unpredictable at times and the bar area is not always open consistently on weekend mornings.

Overall:
I can't recommend this course enough. The condition is excellent, the atmosphere is friendly and laid back. Definitely worth the drive!

Very nice golf course staff was great food was awesome. The course had very nice holes some were a challenge but fun at the same time. Only complaint we had was teeing off early in the morning they didn't have any beverages available until 10am both pop machines were sold out.

Dahlgreen is one of the great golf courses in Southern Metro. The course condition was great; the greens are almost always undulating, so they are never boring. The course is "tighter" than the average courses around here. The course is long enough for most (over 6,700). The course design is very well thought of. Yo must hit the ball strategically, or you have tree issues or worse, OB. You should not play here by yourself for the first time, as you need a lot of course management tips from somebody who knows the course well. I live 45 minutes away, so the location is not very convenient, but if I do not pay the regular green fee, it is definitely worth my trip. Once you learn the course, this course can be a lot of fun for those who like tight courses like Dahlgreen.

Fun course for better players. Play forward tees if average ability.

The ownership who is also the main person at check in is clueless on how to run a golf course. This is the 3rd time we have booked through Golfnow at this course and it is the last. I know I should have learned my lesson after the 1st visit but the price and location was too good so we kept trying. The issue is with the manager running the course. all 3 times we have played we have been approx 45 minutes early hoping to tee off sooner if there were openings available. Every time there was openings but we were forced to wait because the manager states that with this tee time he cannot allow that. Really? Funny no other course I have booked through Golfnow has ever said it and they are very accomadating. Those are the last words anyone could ever say about this guy and his ability to run a course and have any idea what customer service is about. In all 3 cases if we would have been alowwed to get out a litle earlier than our tee time the pace of play would have improved. Thats it for Dahlgreen, no 4th chances.

Well maintained course in the country. My family will be back!

The course is full of fun and challenges requiring quite controlled shots on almost all courses, which I really enjoyed playing.
