Good little course in the country
Nice little course in the country? Would have been better if it they still had the blue tees?
Not as good as years past.
Daytona wasn't in as good a shape as it has been in the past. Fairways were dry and even cracked in several places as well as bumpy to ride. Greens were nice. Don't plan on playing there again this year.
Fun course, friendly staff
Lots of doglegs, fun course to get through quick. Pace was fast. Greens were in great shape. Great job, Daytona!
I would NOT recommend Golfnow. It was more expensive booking through that site than it would have been to book with the course. That was the first time I booked with a tee time site and will be the last.
good time golfing
what an enjoyable afternoon
checked in for our tee time and were immediately comfortable with the friendly nice staff
course was in very very good shape only two holes slightly affected by the extremely wet weather this year
the day was a bit warm but the beverages were cold
will most definitely be back
Daytona Golf Course
Nice course to play, good greens, good set up on the green as for slope and elevations. Fairways nicely maintained, with some interesting dog legs. Challenging on some but great on others
Accommodating
The course is quite straightforward. There are a few holes of any real difficulty and very few on course bunkers or conditions that warrant notice. It's a relatively easy course and a short drive from the Western suburbs.
All in all, it was enjoyable but, not a course that I would probably play again. I would however recommend the course to beginners and its proximity.
Super day except for pace of play
Enjoyed the course and management has done an excellent job handling the wet issues. Have played the course several times and enjoy it except for the Pace of Play. As a single I expect to get paired or placed with a group. Never happens here. Am just told to tee off when the box is open. That is fine except that there tends to be other singles, doubles, or even 5-somes in front of me. Ready golf is never enforced and I had to wait 5-7 minutes between shots several times. Many players are accommodating and allowed, offered, or encouraged me to play through but when you end up behind triple five-somes it just becomes hit and wait. I would like to see staff organize the starting box and sending off 4 or 3somes. I don't mind waiting to tee off if the pace will then be continuous, in fact preferable to teeing off asap and then waiting again and again.
Good overall course
The course was very fun and had enough challenge for most golfers. Staff was great and very upbeat.
Good Track
I had a great time playing at Daytona. I played alone and was able to play multiple balls on most of the holes. I liked how open the holes felt and a general lack of blind shots --though there were a few. The pro was very polite, and asked me if I had played there before and pointed out how to navigate the course.
Fun and Easy Course
We finished 18 riding in four hours even on the Memorial Day holiday. Daytona is short (5373/6245 from the men's tees) and has generous fairways. Everything was green when we played in late May, with only a couple patches of winter kill & hardpan. The value has decreased lately as Golf Now's booking fees went up, but you'll still find some decent deals here.
I love the greens and flags placement on this course
I play this course as much as I can sometimes twice a week great chicken tenders too great course
the play was really slow and the course is not in good shape.
the play was really slow and the course is not in good shape.
Decent course.
Ok course but Greens were airated and the GolfNow price was only $4 off reg price. Not a hot deal by any means.
decent course
value was good for money paid.. fairways are in poor shape.... hard to tell difference between fairway and rough.. but for quick round of golf decent course to play on.. staff is very, very friendly
Pace of play was horrible.
I golfed on a weekday as a twosome. I was on time. There were several twosomes ahead of us, some riding some walking. there was a wait on every hole. After 4 hours and still four holes to go I went home angry. I have no problem joining another twosome, but there were no rangers, in fact the pro shop was not even open. I paid my green fees at the bar. I needed tees and could not even buy any. Wide open course, but take your time and play several balls or you'll be sittin around....
Fun course
Fun course out in the country. Has a little bit of everything, pretty wide open, so great for beginners. Fast greens.
I like some difficulty and not loosing a ball every 2 holes
We all 4 enjoyed the round and all said we would like to play it again. It was a slow following 3 walkers, but ok and expected on a Sunday.
"Fun Golf Course"
Daytona is a great value for the dollar and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The course has generously wide fairways and is in great condition. The greens are not super fast but many of them are elevated so be sure to grab an extra club in many of those cases. Also, the greens are somewhat plateaued so your ball can roll off the green on occasion if you hit close to the edge.
