Always a great time playing this course
Once again we had a great time golfing. Staff are very friendly and out going. Always able to get out early morning. Course is well kept up. Greens roll true. If was closer would play more.
My son and I had the opportunity to play this course for the first time. It was an hour drive from our house, but it was worth it. The course had a nice layout, and playing from the blue tees proved to be challenging. The greens were small and quick which added to the difficulty. There were numerous blind shots to the green and off the tee, so you needed to know where the group in front of you was. You had to drive up 50 yards to get a sight line to make sure the greens had been vacated. I found an early morning hot deal on golf now which made it even better. I wish this course was closer to our place, if it were, I would consider a membership there. I will definitely play it again
The challenge is worth the drive!
This was my 2nd trip to the course in the last 2 weeks and I invited a friend to join my son and I for a round. Every year, we try to play on at least one course we've never played before and how we had never heard of this one before through friends, etc - beyond me? I like the challenges it brings and when it forces you to make a good shot to avoid trouble. Overall, this course has given me a new place to want to play more often and the staff (while interactions are limited during COVID19) has been a pleasure to deal with. Thank you!
Beautiful Course that was worth the drive!
This was my first visit to this course and I brought 2 of my sons to play there and a friend. We were very surprised at how challenging the course can be at times but most of all, we all enjoyed the how nice the course is overall! There were a few 'teaser' holes as we like to call them, par 4's that play just over 300 yards, so the driver came out of the bag for each of us on those, as it's fun to try make it to the green. This course definitely has some playability, just be ready to have some extra golf balls in the bag, as some blind shots took a few from us.
Worth the trip
As always, the course is in great shape even with all the rain we had. Enjoy playing this course. Staff is always very friendly and thankful for us playing the course. If we were closer we’d play more often.
Played early morning, still a lot of dew of the greens, tuff putting. Not rolled at that time. Still great course to play. will deal with the dew to be able to get out early in the morning. Speed golf....
Weds amT Time!
The day was a little cool, but great for golf ⛳️. I played poorly but it was still fun and Kimball is always a wonderful venue!
This is a true hidden gem. The layout is very nice. Most holes have big wide fairways. A little bit more rain and the course would have been in excellent condition.
If you've never played the course, you really need to. If you have played it before, you need to go back.
Good course but a couple of strange holes
This course as always been a challenge. The back nine always seems to be more fun to play then the front nine. The front nine has to par threes that are a little hokey. The course in general was in good shape very green and the employees are very helpful and friendly.
Great small town course
Nicely kept. Have played before. Heavily treed, so, fall playing gets interesting. One island hole. Plenty of interest. Very fun staff!
worth the trip
Have played the course quite a bit this year. Always able to get on course at time that works for us. (early). Course is always well taken care of. Personnel are very friendly and so are the members that we have talked to or played with.
One of Central Minnesota's Best Courses
I've played this course hundreds of times over the last 15 years and I don't know if it's ever been in better condition than it is now. Had an 8am tee time so it was still wet with dew which made the greens a bit slow. I may be a biased (former) local but I've played courses all over central MN, the state, and the midwest and KGC is hard to beat for value, fun layout, scenery, and course condition. New management this year and I think it's only going to get better. Sandy has been working here as long as I can remember and there is nobody who could do a better job. She's simply awesome at what she does, so friendly and treats everyone like a member. She knows this course as well as anyone. The pro shop is minimal but there's food and drink for during/after your round. The driving range is kept in nice shape. The practice green is small but kept consistent with what you'll see on the course. Be prepared to see some tough breaking putts on holes 3, 6, 9, 13, and 17. Hole 15 is their self proclaimed "signature hole" because of the island green, but if you hit an accurate drive on the 18th, your approach shot to the green is the funnest shot on the course. Hole 6 is the most difficult par 3 around. You will be very happy with a par. I could go on but long story short, this is a must play if you are in the area.
