Good course but a couple of strange holes
This course as always been a challenge. The back nine always seems to be more fun to play then the front nine. The front nine has to par threes that are a little hokey. The course in general was in good shape very green and the employees are very helpful and friendly.
Great small town course
Nicely kept. Have played before. Heavily treed, so, fall playing gets interesting. One island hole. Plenty of interest. Very fun staff!
worth the trip
Have played the course quite a bit this year. Always able to get on course at time that works for us. (early). Course is always well taken care of. Personnel are very friendly and so are the members that we have talked to or played with.
Changing course
Course plays good. Only bad was a big storm and lots of down brush from the day before. Normally very nice.
One of Central Minnesota's Best Courses
I've played this course hundreds of times over the last 15 years and I don't know if it's ever been in better condition than it is now. Had an 8am tee time so it was still wet with dew which made the greens a bit slow. I may be a biased (former) local but I've played courses all over central MN, the state, and the midwest and KGC is hard to beat for value, fun layout, scenery, and course condition. New management this year and I think it's only going to get better. Sandy has been working here as long as I can remember and there is nobody who could do a better job. She's simply awesome at what she does, so friendly and treats everyone like a member. She knows this course as well as anyone. The pro shop is minimal but there's food and drink for during/after your round. The driving range is kept in nice shape. The practice green is small but kept consistent with what you'll see on the course. Be prepared to see some tough breaking putts on holes 3, 6, 9, 13, and 17. Hole 15 is their self proclaimed "signature hole" because of the island green, but if you hit an accurate drive on the 18th, your approach shot to the green is the funnest shot on the course. Hole 6 is the most difficult par 3 around. You will be very happy with a par. I could go on but long story short, this is a must play if you are in the area.
Good Buy, even a Best Buy
Course in great shape, It was VERY hot and humid.
But still a great round.
Short drive for an excellent round of golf
Well it takes approximately an hour from the Twin Cities, the drive is well worth the experience. The courses well-maintained, excellent layout and personnel are friendly and helpful. Try to play once or twice a year and always find the course in good shape and very playable.
Fun-filled course
I enjoy this course, which is why I try to play it 5-10 times a year. Beware though⛳️, a good round can dissapear on 15 & 16 in a hurry. I was even on back 9 and went dbl dbl! Course management in a transition period but board members filling in and doing a good job.
early morning golfing
Great course to be able to get out early in the morning.
Staff is very friendly. Would play more at course if it was closer (1hr 15min drive).
Try it!! You'll Like it!!!
All I can say is Wow. Beautiful Course in Excellent Condition. Greens putted very well. Great attention to detail throughout the whole course. The only part I don't understand there was hardly anyone out there on a Gorgeous Friday morning. That darn hole 15 & 16 got me again. Them two holes are not made for headcases like me!
great course to play
Played on a Sat. Very early morning. Course was in great shape. Greens rolled very true. Even pace on all green. Was worth the hour drive to get to. Will play again. Few of the par 4's played long also a few blind shots. needed to drive up to see if able to hit. other than that it was a fun course to play..
Short drive for an excellent round of golf
I usually play Kimball once or twice a year. It's a very scenic and rolling venue with an excellent layout. It's well worth the trip from the Minneapolis suburbs, about one hour for an excellent round of golf. I found the staff friendly and courteous. Well worth the trip.
