Heritage Better than several past years
The day was perfect. Started around 8:40am. Fairways best shape in years. Rough's cut just the right length so you can still find your ball. Some greens had lots of ball marks but that was from play from prior rainy weather.. All greens held shots and only a couple seemed faster than the rest.
They have cleaned up some area's to make it more playable and added a trap on the on one. Cart paths still rough. What I liked the most was how full the grass was in the fairways. The ball sat up and they were cut to a good length.
Partial Links Course
We had a perfect Saturday morning to play this course for the first time. We chose it as it was within driving range of Uptown and had open morning tee times at a reasonable price.
We were expecting a somewhat flatter landscape given the "links" designation. Some design elements were similar to a links-style course (carries over marshes & blind shots), but other elements were missing (e.g., hard wide fairways, penal rough, large undulant greens). Even so, it was an interesting course but really requires a lot of course knowledge (and a detailed guidebook!) to shoot a decent score. My playing partner and I lost a half-dozen balls in wide open areas, -- usually after blind shots -- despite the short rough, which was very frustrating as we also lost a similar number due to poor shots into the ever-present marshland scattered throughout the property.
The clubhouse is very basic, although there were a few tables, a small bar, and basic foodstuffs.
We were paired with a few local semi-pro baseball players who were celebrating the end of their season. All in all, we had a very enjoyable day.
Course was in pretty good shape - a little soggy in a few areas
Roughs were a bit long but understandable given our recent weather. All in all I enjoyed the round and was glad I went.
The scorecard/course layout didn’t give enough detail about how to play blind shots. There were several holes where it was unclear what hazards lie ahead because of the hilly terrain.
Fully agree. You really need a detailed guidebook to breakdown each hole. Otherwise it's just a crap shoot on many shots. In fact, sometimes it isn't even obvious which way the hole lies.
Course was in good shape considering recent wet weather. Price was good with hot deal but full price is a bit more than I'd want to pay. Will look out for more deals. Friendly staff
The course was in very good shape. A bit of target golf, especially on the back nine. Fun round
Course was in great shape! Greens were perfect and fairways were great. The staff is awesome and friendly too!
After teeing off it was really hard to see where to hit the ball to the flag. If your not a LONG ball hitter like my 35 yearly old son.
Great course tuff but fare
Cashier very friendly & professional Course in great shape. Course booklet provided very helpful
I thought the course was great lots of blind shots, great shape and good food inside and out ,plus Swannies gear
Fun course, the detailed yardage book was a must for the first time out as there were a lot of blind shots. Not crowded at all. Many of the greeens were not in the best shape, but they putted okay. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Will play here again.
Staff is very friendly and course is in great shape. Recommend playing has some challenging holes.
