Good course!
Tough course, lots of blind shots if you are just trying to golf quick you will be guessing.
Staff runs a tight ship!
Fast quiet round
Got off early, no waiting. Greens were punched but not bad.
Challenging
It's a challenging course with long holes and rolling hills. A good course for long iron play on the fairway.
good greens, tricky course
If you arent familiar with the course, grab one of their course layout booklets, and spend 5 minutes talking to someone in the pro shop about the many tricky shots you will run into. Lots of bling shots, Lots of trouble you cant see off the tee, lots of places where you want to ease off the gas pedal and play very conservative.
If you play smart, you will score. The greens are nice and always rolling at a good pace. The folks who work out here, especially the club PGA pro, are all very nice.
This is a staple for me, and I regularly make the drive down from Minneapolis to enjoy this tricky little beast.
Will Never be back
First experience at this course and will never go back. Drove 30 minutes to play a new course. The Ranger was a complete power hungry grade A a-hole. Pace of play was terrible. The course looked like it hadn’t been watered in weeks despite much recent rain. The layout was horrendous and design was terrible. Many blind shots with no way to see the group in front of you. The greens looked like no one fixed any ball marks and were in awful shape. It’s built on a swamp with many holes where your tee shot needs to go under 200 yards then a blind approach over a hazard. I personally will never play this course again. For $60 play Legends or Wilds or Mystic. Many other options available.
Hidden shots
Beware you are shooting blind on many holes. A great drive might land you in a hazard. Challenging course first time out. But worth the trip.
Not what it once was!
Too bad...because this course
used to be in much better shape.
Sand traps are now wastelands, no upkeep.
Tee boxes uneven mostly.
Greens are okay. but clover everywhere in the fairways.
Not a good value anymore, and hardly any deals to be found for the course condition.
rough greens
much of the course and greens were in poor shape. Many ball marks on the greens and no repair.
Buyer beware!
Long story short, as Golfnow would post my last comment, $61 was way to much to pay! Starter was not available as he was watching golf on tv in the pro shop. Course in good condition, many blind shots so bring extra balls.
St. Croix was almost half the price in hot deals and is WAAAAAAY more worth the price! Don’t waste your time and money at Heritage!
Not worth the money
I was excited to play this course as it was $50 so my expectations were high. Don’t waste your time or money. The pro shop charged me $11 more which I don’t understand. The starter was in and out watching TV in the pro shop. I asked the desk if I could join one of the twosomes and he said they were full which was a lie. The app showed many openings where I could have joined a twosome and there were twosomes all around the 3 they paired me with.
The greens where good and rolled true fairways and tees were good too. But there are way to many blind shots. For that price you’d think they’d have GPS on there carts. Or at least pictures on the scorecard....nope.
In conclusion it’s a 35-40 dollar course. Definitely not worth the price I paid!
Nice Track
Friendly staff, excellent shape, good design, not too many blind shots. I played as a single for the first time and had a blast.
Worth the money
Challenging course in fairly good condition. Pace of play pretty good and friendly staff.
General review
Too many blind shots and layout that forces your hand. You hit a nice drive into a blind fairway only to find you are in trees, marsh or water.
The holes are right next to each other and you hear "Four" all the time, especially during your back swing. Very noisy course as everyone is hitting into each other's fairway. Front nine was hit the ball and wait and back nine is hit the ball and hope you can find it.
Course is in great shape but a bit too gimmicky for me
